Character Change

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 9:06 am

I really think that after creation character alteration should be made availvble in some form, my character is looks remarkable like sean bean but i made the dude too skinny and it makes his head look massive and he kinda looks like a skagged out junky, Even some of the armor types don't suit him because of his weight, Its just one of those astetic things that gets me, i'd like to be able to change his look every so often, i think it should be added as some form of DLC or maybe im just abit OCD about it all.

This is what I didn't understand.

Because in Oblivion right after the tutorial it ask you if this is your character.

Same thing with Fallout 3.

Why did they take that option out of Skyrim?

I agree. Granted though the hair choices were not preferable at all this time around. Just all around ugly hair.

What's with the balding options? I mean come on Bethseda, you waste half my time with balding options.

started over so many characters because i ended up being disappointed with them after being unbound. it svcks to have to try to recreate the same character with 1 or 2 less steroid injections. also the hairstyles do not look good in the selection screen, and unfortunately that is the best they are going to look.

What I don't understand is why you would end the character creation at the start if you thought your character looked bad.

Also, the game is set in a medival fantasy time period. It's not like they can give rhinoplasty or boob jobs.

I know but i was so damn excited to go laying some dragons out that i didn't fully notice, until i put on like hide armor and it looked like it was about to slip off, and then stood next to some dude and realised my character looked like his pre puberty cousin

If you want "customization" buy a PC... I can change my characters appearance anytime I want.

We already got a [censored] dumbed down game because of your consoles...

You can't have it both ways...

Seeing as how 60% of sales of Skyrim is from X-box and over 25% is from Ps3... I believe we're in the minority.

It's not the respect that needs to go away, it's the level cap limit that needs to disappear. I want to keep levelling up for ever. :(

Quit blaming console players. I don't even like some of the changes made to this game and I play the console. Some things aren't even helpful for us console players.

There are two kinds of lighting and I like to see what the character looks like in game and in customization before deciding.

lol.

That's all well and good, but Bethesda made those changes with the "console player" in mind... So I mean, logically, it's a fair assessment.

And I don't know if you've ever played a real PC RPG on a PC... But playing Skyrim on a PC, navigating the menu is a [censored] travesty.

I can't remember the last PC RPG game I played that I couldn't "drag and drop" or "right click" for options... Or the last one that didn't have a "character sheet" and/or "paper doll".

I mean the game got really dumbed down... I mean Bethesda "DA2d" this game.

And it all points too... Console gamers.

So basically the only recourse for a PC gamer is waiting for Blizzard to release Diablo 3... Or I guess Torchlight 2, and then eventually Guild Wars 2. Every other RPG listed as in development are more "console ports".

I personally liked Morrowind and Oblivion's UI over Skyrim's UI.

I also would have prefered a flat map instead of this 3D map. I mean the maps I use in real life are flat and don't work like a globe. I personally like PC set up, even on the console.

I usually don't play RPGs on the PC though because I run such an old computer it probably die.

There are 240 perks in the game. I think I read somewhere that by the time you get all the perks, you'll be at or close to level 80. That should keep you going for a while.

So it's my fault? It's my fault that Bethesda went to consoles? I really hope next time TES VI, it's consoles only so we never get these kinds of posts about "dumbed down". Funny Morrowind was on console and it wasn't "dumbed down".

Well, without re-rolling you DO have one other option:

Never go into 3rd person. :P

It's not like you, as a console player, can take screenshots.

games on pc are a total pain in the ass. i play some on pc and some on console, but i prefer console because its less messing around and less money i have to spend. however i do hate the dumbing down they are doing. but fyi its not being dumbed down for consoles, its being dumbed down for how stupid kids are today.

Oblivion was really weak on the balding options. There wasn't even a fully shaved style. Now they've improved it and I salute them!

This is the kind of attitude that prevents people from becoming PC gamers. You only have yourself and your off-putting sense of superiority to blame for developers aiming more at the console crowd.

I know but its the principal! imagine if your characters image was obscure of what you think of when you imagine a person born with dragon blood, its just a small thing that pesters me

Why would you end character creation at the start if the character looked bad?

Well, Eager to actually start the game, and overlook a detail is a big one. Failing to get a full-body view of your character in motion is another.

I ended up with really stupid looking hair on one of my Khajiit: It looked awesome from the front and in character creation, but from behind in motion, it's absolutely horrible.
