Character Editor v1.3

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 6:33 pm

I got the same thing, but if you download it from the Nexus, Norton says it's all kosher.
Doesn't work though. Gives syntax errors and items tab is missing. Also from what I
can see it's just a graphical frontend for regular console commands?

It works perfectly for me, and neither did Avast report it being infected. And this is a great program because it finally allows us to correct mistakes we make while choosing perks and such, and not every one is willing to look up all the codes to use in the console. :)

Yeah, items tab isn't appearing (1.3) and it's all a glorified frontend for console commands. Makes it more convenient at least.

If you guys don't want just a "graphical frontend" go to the uesp wiki, find the command you need, the hex code you need and do the work manually. Using the program is much faster and easier.

This is true, it is fast and convenient and could be a good tool for testing scenarios - if it had worked. I just tested changing some m/h/s
values, and I do get a syntax error in game when trying to run the batch file - and then there's the issue of the items tab being MIA too.

Everyone who is getting errors, where are you running thr program from? I've just got it on my desktop next to my skyrim shortcut and it works fine.

That's what makes it so cool and useful.

As for Norton, I get that too. Norton flags any exe it isn't sure about (e.g. thats new). It keeps you very safe from exe's, but also is annoying. Wrye Bash installer also got flagged and deleted from my computer. I went into settings and excluded my Skyrim mod download dir from Norton's "Download Intelligence" because it's not very intelligent.

Hmm strange i do get all the tabs as shown in the screenshots? As for the syntax error ingame(And please do not get mad about this. ) did you type "bat save_edit.txt"? If so then that is the problem, it should be "bat save_edit".

Indeed I did my friend, Thanks for pointing that out. I will go try it again without the .txt. extension added.

Still have the missing tab though. (latest v1.3)

NORTON USERS:

1. Create a new directory to download into.
2. Go to Settings > Computer > AntiVirus and Sonar Exclusions.
3. Select "Items to Exclude from Scans" and add the dir you just made.
4. Select "Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR, and Download Intelligence Detection" and add the dir you just made.
5. Now.you can download the mod into that dir and it should work just fine. (unless UAC is crapping on you)

I can verify this. The English version on mediafire (2nd post) has an item tab.

The Nexus version is missing the item tab.

Well i use the version from Mediafire so that might explain why i have the items tab.

The Nexus version is missing the item tab.

Downloaded it from Nexus and strangely enough it indeed does not have the items tab...really weird?

I just prefer downloading it from the Nexus because the Nexus version gets a clear flag from my antivirus,
whilst the Mediafire set of every alarm there is. So there is definitely something different between them.

Pretty cool. If you can do this, would you also be able to extract face/body customization data, so I can make a new character that is an exact clone of a former character?
A save-to-save face transferer would be awesome.

Thanx for creating this wonderful editor! This is just what i need to (for example: remove Caldur's 'Elvis Presly side-burns' LOL)..and make more fun looking stuff. I have not seen an Editor made to be this helpful and simple to use, since Daggerfall, and that one did not change the characters heads in any way, ( but just their stuff and stats ..so u could make their armor colours match and so on..) etc..! But i can hardly wait to start using this new Editor for Skyrim and I have been going vannilla except for a voiced THu'Um program so far. Had my fun with vannila, now time to have fun with all the creative choices this editor can give me to personalize a few followers and so on! MUCH THANX!!!

Is there any way this could be used to extract a characters appearence and put it into another save, overwriting that characters appearance?

I tried to download the 1.4 mediafire version and for some reason it was not available because of some unknown "terms of use" violation.

(Is source code available for this program?)

And your links are down...

Mediafire links are dead. They removed the files due to some violation. Anyone got another link?

Or maybe the author is working on developing fixes -- developing takes lots of time.
