Character Gen Parts: Head and body have different Colors

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:24 am

Hi,

got some problems after modifying Aela The Huntress with the Character Gen Parts / Character Gen Morphs in the CK. I give her the race "Redguard" (instead of "Nord") and alter her SkinTone. Additionally I modify her face a little. In the CK her head and body are displayed in the right color, but in game her head got another color. I use the mod BetterFemales 3 (Bella), but when I uninstall this, the different colors remain.

Do anyone know how to fix that? I want to keep "Better Females" - so is there a way, how I can modify Aela without mess her up?

Select your actor in the objects window and then press ctrl+F4 and pick yes to export.

Hm,

did it, but the problem remains. Where did the CK save the exported file?

Okay, found the files in ...\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data\textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\Skyrim.esm

I took it out of the auto-created folder "Skyrim.esm" and put it under "FaceTint". But when I load the game now, I just got Aelas old face (with warpaint etc) and all my changes are gone. Did I get something wrong? In which folder the files of the FaceGenData should be placed?

The files stay inside the Skyrim.esm folder.

Yep,

I'm an idiot! Already got that by opening the bsa and look for the right path

But also after that, it still doesn't work. So I tried this: Take out the whole texture folder out of my data directory, then open the CK and export the face gen data, after that put the texture folder back (don't overwrite my new face gen datas) and: It works

Found that the solution on another forum: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=5121

This has something to do with the generated face gen data of the CK (the altered files in the texture folder mess up the export).
