Character Height Glitch

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 9:05 am

Hello all,

I have this weirdest glitch where my character suddenly is a lot smaller than al the other NPC's. I'm a bit taller than the children in Skyrim and i'm beginning to be really annoyed with this glitch. I constantly have to look up to look other characters in the face and all the items like tables, chairs etc. just seem too large.
I'm feeling like a dwarf.
Anyone heard about this glitch and knows a solution?

Thanks in advance!

Are you perhaps playing a bosmer?

On the PC version you Press ~ and type 'player.setscale 1'
Can be any size from 1.00 - 1.25, any further would be too big for doorways and any lower is well, obviously shorter than the average. I am unsure why a slight height/size changer hasn't been made available in character creation.

You should probably load an earlier game save that didn't have this glitch in effect since your a 360 version.

Indeed playing on the 360. However...fate has it that i recently deleted my older savefiles and do not have one without the glitch.
I'm 65+ hours in and not feeling like starting all over again.
Bethesda...come on guys...these glitches are crazy.

This happened to me last night after buying Vindrel Hall and loading into it. It was like my character was permanently sneaking with her legs in the ground to her knees. Noticing it immediately I started to jump around and sneak/unsneak, after 30 seconds it fixed itself. I'm sure it will happen again. Just another glitch in a seemingly neverending parade of disapointment.

It's been this way for more than 8 hours. I've tried to jump around and sneak/unsneak, but it doesn't seem to work. Were you the 30 seconds constantly jumping around and sneaking/unsneaking?

It's driving me insane, I was really looking forward to Skyrim and it's a blast but these glitches are too much man. It's getting to the point where it's not longer acceptable.

Have you tried turning into a werewolf? Maybe that will reset your size.

It's a damn shame you have to overcome soooo many obstacles (bugs) to enjoy Skyrim. I'm beginning to feel that i'm not enjoying Skyrim as it was intended due to all the bugs. Cant remember Oblivions having this much problems. Dont get me wrong, Skyrim is a better game, but the bugs you face in this game are sick and in my case, are actually spoiling the fun.

This Bug Must Be Fixed!....SLACKER!

I have a small question for you all.

Would it be feasible if Bethesda would include a ''return to default'' patch for the character height glitch?
I mean...is this a bug that is easily fixed or is there a big possibility i will be getting the shaft when patch 1.2 is released?

Thanks!
