Did anyone notice the way the characters were named in the new video yesterday? The character names in the group were; playa-like-gina, and eliza, the other two i couldn't make out exactly, but one person had a last name, one had an argonian naming thing going on and two were first name only.

Was this already confirmed before? I remember people complaining about this process in the past and just curious if anyone else noticed this?

i think it'll have just the typical naming conventions that most games have... alphanumeric characters, no double spaces, a minimum and maximum amount of total characters used, and may or may not allow . , - _ and '

Before they said that we were forced to have first and last names.

Now it seems that they saw the complaints from the fans about this and how it broke lore. So it seemed like they took this rule away.

In STO you can have a first name, a middle name, or a last name. You can also choose which of those names you want to display. One of them, two of them or all three....

I laughed at "comfirmed (maybe)".

Anyway, I wouldn't think the names of the characters being played by the devs themselves would be evidence of anything.

As long as they don't force a last name, it should be fine.

I'm glad to see that it changed. Just curious when this change happened and did they let anyone know they were doing that? I bet there was much to rejoice for those complaining they couldn't name the character how they wanted previously.

That's were the maybe came from, technically they could probably do anything they wanted for their names. However it would be weird if in the first live reveal they named their characters against their own naming policy. Just saying.

I really hope so.

That was the first time we have seen them without first and last names.

One possibility is that they could have had their "last name" hidden.
