I know this is just a small thing but during creation of my character i accidently hit B before i had created a name and now i am stuck with the default "prisoner" name....why is it i can't change it? nor did it let me confirm my name at all.

There is a confirmation pop up. You must have accidentally hit 2 buttons. Only thing I can say is restart.

Really? i swear to god i never saw one as i didn't actually change the name. Still i think i should be able to change it.

Is there no re-confirmation of your choices at the end of the starter dungeon? Both Morrowind and Oblivion had this...

I guess it's because you're only really doing aesthetics and your name, as opposed to picking all your major skills that pretty much determine how you play for the rest of the game.
