Character Shrinking Bug Report

Post » Wed Aug 15, 2012 2:57 am

Okay, so I'm playing a dark elf. Have over 100hrs on him, Dawnguard IS installed. So just today I was doing a quest for some High Elf and I notice...wtf...he's the same height as my dark elf. And I play primarily in 3rd person. No, this was not the sneaking camera bug. This Altmer was TINY. And everybody knows that they tower over even Nords in this game. Nope, not anymore. So I started looking around and noticed this seems to have infected every Altmer in the game. Went to Google to see what was possibly causing the bug out of curiosity, found out it wasn't exclusive to either Altmer or NPCs. The Dragonborn can permenantly shrink as well. It appears to happen extremely slowly, but I read reports all over the place of permenantly shrunken player characters, down to some pretty ridiculous levels. So, unfortunately, not a SINGLE fix has been found. Nobody even knows WHY this happens. My question is, how is this happening, and how can I avoid it turning my elf into a midget?

Btw, playing on 360 with the latest patch plus Dawnguard

I don't know if this is quite the same thing, but have you ever noticed how first-person gets things totally wrong?

Go into a shop, in third-person, and you'll see yourself head and shoulders above the counter. Switch to first-person and you basically have to look up to talk to the vendor as you're now only at eye-level with the top of the counter. Even if you're not sneaking, you always feel like a baby crawling around in certain places, where it all looks perfectly fine in third-person :)
