Post » Tue Aug 25, 2009 1:25 pm

I have recently re-installed morrowind on my new machine with windows 7 had some minor problems an start up nothing too major, but all of a sudden my character will not jump.
First i thought maybe its a mod i installed nope still wont jump,i even re mapped all the keys still no jumpy so does anyone have a solution to why my character is so reluctant on jumping?

Are our over-encumbered? Have you tried jumping in various places as there might be areas where you cannot jump due to the ceiling. Pressing the correct key? (I know you said you remapped them) Did you double check from a 3rd person view that you are not jumping? Other than these I do not have any other ideas atm.

When you re-installed did you try the jumping on a new toon? Or did you just try your current one from the save? I assume the jump key on the keyboard works (if typing in a document and the jump key is 'e', it will type the letter). I have seen where someone claims the key works fine but it actually didn't when they tried on a writing program. My only other idea is that a mod is affecting it but what mod I have no idea. You could try installing MW again and add each mod 1 or 2 at a time, then try jumping. Maybe that can help to track it down. My only other suggestion would be to make sure you learn how to levitate.

Normally you can only jump when the character creation process is completed, from my experience. If you can't jump after that I wouldn't know either, sorry

Have you toggled yourself into sneak mode and not realised it? You can't jump then (or run). This happened to me once.

I hate when little things like this happen. While they're not exactly game-breaking, they can be very annoying at times.

I had that very problem today, but with special circumstances : I made myself some constant effect water walking shoes, and sometimes I cannot jump from the water, I have to go back to the land.
