Characters in Fallout Lore We Could See in Mothership Zeta

Post » Sat Aug 15, 2009 4:56 pm

There is already a thread in the DLC forum about abductees on the ship in general, so let's keep this specific on lore and how this could effect it or be influenced by it.

The ad page for Mothership Zeta indicated there will be abductees from "earth's past" on the ship with you. What characters from Fallout lore, either mentioned or met in previous games, could be on Mothership Zeta?

It would have to be someone not killed or likely killed... maybe not even possibly killed, though that limits who it could be drastically.

It would have to be someone worth mentioning, i.e. someone with a clear name and look to them, or who did something at least somewhat important.

It would most likely have to be someone young enough in the previous games to still be alive in Fallout 3 time, though with "earth's past" being mentioned, this could be dubious, as they might be doing some sort of time barrier/warp plot device.

If it is someone who was never in a game, but is known enough to be recognized or important, who could this be? Who are the people mentioned prominently in Fallout lore but never seen in any game?

My ideas are limited, as I have not played FO1 or FO2 in quite some time, and never played Tactics at all. I would guess Harold if he was not already in the game in another way.

I think a likely candidate would be one of the followers from previous games, like Ian.

If Moira doesn't get abducted along with the rest of us, its going to be very boring in space.

On the other hand if they Do get abducted, she will have little aliens running all over the wasteland adding chapters to her book.

In fact, it is unlikely the aliens will be able to make it home without assistance from the Wasteland Survival Guide...

My list of characters:

BoS Head Scribe Vree - poked around too much searching for tech and got the jackpot
Ghoul leader Set - because the aliens want to turn all humans into ghouls instead killing them and he is the template
President dike Richardson - we only met his alien clone in FO2 - he is the real one

The aliens could always just raid the Cafe of Broken Dreams, then they could get all the washouts from Fallout 1.

"So your the descendant of the Fallout 1 hero? Wow! Hi! I'm Tandi! I don't want to blurt it out, but your grandfather sure was cute. Actually, I hear that I'm in Fallout 2 somewhere. But I don't want to find me, that would be kinda weird"

Never has the fourth wall been so remorselessly annihilated.

Cavemen. The aliens have been watching Earth for a long time, so why not since the dawn of civilization?

After all, they say "Earth's past", not "Fallout's past".

At the very least, maybe some ancient Egyptians. I mean, Chariots of the Gods* is a load of crap, but it works in a Science-fiction setting.

Spoiler
This is where the "aliens built the pyramids!" thing comes from. In truth, the book's author, Erich von D?niken simply didn't do any research. The pyramids were built by thousands of slaves, and were designed by Imhotep by stacking several mastabas on top of each other, and this design was refined over time.
The more you know, cue shooting star.

LOL

Elvis would be really cool.

What about Torr from Fallout 2 ? He always worried about those bugmen that came at night to steal his moo moo's.
It would be ironic to meet him aboard the spaceship.

Or the pint sized slasher !

Hm, maybe the Vault dweller from F1 ? Or Chosen One from F2 ? I mean they say he "ascended into the skies" so this would actually fit xD

That would be quite sweet indeed.

I like the idea of Set from FO1 too... he would still be alive, would be distincitve, and would be a nice recall in the series.

How about some of the old Fallout Raiders? I'd LOVE to see Asp in the alien ship.

As I understand it sometimes he will get slaughtered and sometimes he doesn't. I sure hope he makes an appearance though because I love Set's slang talk.

Its possible for the Vault Dweller to be part of it, Amelia Earheart, and just about anyone who's disappeared. You could have the president at the start of the great and General Chase be kidnapped put in cryofreeze and become part of the mission. I think it would be interesting to see and its only two weeks away.
