Characters iconicized via skill lines?

My question is, what are some characters from other games, movies or books that you would like to see iconicized (I apparently made that word up) as a class or through skill lines in this game? For example, the character of Drizzit Do'Urden from the R.A. Salvator books is expressed through the dual-wielding skill line.

I would personally love to see something like the character of Tristan from the film, King Arthur (2004) http://letthemgrumble.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/sir-tristan.jpg expressed through a skill line that focuses on dueling with a single weapon. Other examples of this archetype of sorts would be the title star of the Highlander film and tv series, the character of Lancelot in the film, First Knight (1995), Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai, Jedi, etc.

Other potential character archetypes could be King Leonidas from the film, 300. This character could be expressed with a two-handed spear skill line and/or a spear and shield skill line.

i am not entirely sure what you are talking about. IF you are talking about skill lines for different styles (ones that would allow you to play as certain character) then I can kinda see where you are going. Thing is, Dual wielding was not made by Drizzt, and single blades were not made famous by that other guy. it would not be because they are being based on a character, just a playstyle those characters happen to use, just as a million other characters happen to use them.

I agree with you, but would argue one point. Dual wielding was made popular by the Drizzit series of books. You didn't really see it at all before that character came along.

This thread is really just a subtle way for me to get everyone to discuss future skill lines. Skill lines inspired by characters from external media though.

I`d like to be jaime lannister or the Hound, so some NORD in heavy plate armor with 2h, and I would bow every time you fart

D&D always had Dual wielding, and actually Drizzt is not known by everybody anymore. I would like to see a skill tree about just using a single sword and nothing else though.

I think Jaime Lannister would be a good example, seeing as that character use a bastard sword with two hands and is a duelist of sorts. The hound though wields a giant two-hander, which is currently available in-game, and so wouldn't add anything new.

I read most of the drizzt series. They were ok but nothing to the wheel of time or game of thrones. As for skill lines I would like to see a bard class that would actually require musical skill to be good at. That would depart from the Lore a little; but the bard has been a class up until skyrim.

Oh okay, there you go then I guess. Yeah, a single sword dueling skill line would be awesome!! I'm sure someone will comment about how there already is a single sword skill line. I don't think giant two-handed claymores are what either of us have in mind though :P

Well just look at the size of the sword he used to fight Ned Stark with. He gripped it with two hands and... It's comparable in size to Jon's. Maybe it wasn't a bastard sword, but you get my point.

Ah I see, I was referencing the books and not the show where there's No reference that he uses a bastard sword. As opposed to just a Visual reference

Actually, the comment is more along the lines of there isn't one, and apparently never going to be one. Characters either dual wield, sword and board or use two handed weapons.

Anyway, the system as set up doesn't really lend itself to 'iconic' images. Unless Lancelot was secretly hauling people around with fiery chains, summoning demons or shooting people with lasers made out of the sun.
