I used to play AoC, and one of my characters was a Herald of Xotli. It was a very unique type of mage that functioned as a shock trooper. Basically it is a cloth wearing mage wielding a 2-handed sword and could transform into a demon (Avatar of Xotli), the playstyle is almost exclusively melee and the use of fire magic such as fire breath and cloaks.

Should add that using the Miraak set is perfect for this kind of character, Xotli is Robert E. Howards version of Cthulu.

Right now I'm playing a Nord berserker type character.
Two-handed
Archery
Alchemy
Smithing
Lightarmor
Block

Basically I use alchemy to get the most damage I can by making fortify two-handed and archery potions.
I do make some poisons as well and plenty of resist elemental potions.
Alchemy is the most important skill for this character, but I don't neglect the other skills.

It's been a lot of fun so far,I see a bear shoot it with my bow then switch to my battle axe and go berserk.
I have nothing to fear from dragons, find out what kind of breath attack it's useing then drink a resist fire or frost potion and a fortify two-handed potion then start wailing away at it.
These fortify potions can be extremely powerful, dealing much more damage than most poison can do.
Plus they can regenerate stamina, usefull to keep up your power attacks.

Currently I am playing Priest of Arkay/Witch-hunter who is allied with the Dawnguard and actively seeks to root out and destroy the undead and necromancers.

See my sig for the basic build.

This won't work against dragons or animals, but a sneaky poisoner could be fun. Sneak + Alchemy + Pickpocket. You kill people by sneaking up to them and placing loads of poisons in their inventory. Throw in Illusion and you'll become able to handle animals as well.

Just don't try to do the main quest with this build because you're helpless against dragons.

It's not mine but this is a pretty unique build: http://theskyrimblog.ning.com/group/character-building/forum/topics/character-build-the-obsidian-sentinel

It's built so that by using the Atronach perk/Standing stone you can only use magic when hit by magic.

What character would you all say is the most over powered? as in almost invincible (without the enchanted weapons and armour that you use alchemy to create potions to make over powered)

Playing a bad bastard-anything goes vampire lord thief/assasin.

He's a nord, and obviously a vampire lord who uses, on right hand, dagger or sword, left hand, conjuration magic. With the frost resistance bonus of nords + frost resistance from vampires, you can laugh from frost spells and frost attacks from dragons.

His main Offensive skills are:
  • 1 handed: for dagger and sword damage. I only invest on the first perk.
  • Conjuration magic: To call my atronach and dremora buddies to fight alongside me when sneaking fails. I feel lika a mafia boss. I go in the summon branch, and the magic cost branch. I ignore the middle branches of the conjuration tree.

Primary skills:
  • Enchanting: Being a vampire, one must think how to lower that weakness to fire, enchanting will do the job.
  • Sneak: as a thief/assasin, this is a must. I only get to assasin blade and muffled movement. The other perks are too OP for my taste.
  • PickPocket: Being a thief without pickpocket just feels wrong. In this I don't go for the full tree either. just get the poison and extra pockets perk and you're good to go.
  • Light Armor: Because we don't have shields, it's good to invest on this, but I don't go the full tree, only up to perk that give you a bonus for an specific set of armor.

Secondary skills:
  • Smithing: I level it up to 60 so I can get the improve enchanted armors perk. After that, If I can get the perk points, I'll try to get to daedra smithing just to get that cool daedra swords and daggers.

I'm considering to level up restauration after I'm set with the others (at 50s I'll be set with all my selected skills) to get the necromage perk, but as far I played as a vampire just fine without it.

Gandalf, race, Nord. One handed, destruction, alteration, speech. Secondary skills go with Illusion. For destruction fire, shock. One handed I would go with a Elf-sword.

Roman Legionary, Race, Imperial. One handed, heavy armor, block, smithing. Get heavy Imperial gear and a Imperial sword. There are also two pretty good helmets you can find that are rare. Whatever shield you use is up to you. Im using the companions shield you get at the end of the questline.

I'm playing a Khajiit survivalist, archer/thief. the only potions I intentionally make are healing or poisons. My fighting style is archer or short sword/dagger with light shield, working on dual weild at the moment. And of course I wear light armour. I look for and mainly trade with the khajiit merchants outside the cities but will go inside Whiterun to trade with the merchants there. I mainly ignore the main questline as of now.

Here's my current- a dunmer/falmer rogue/archer.

Major skills: Archery, sneak, light armor
Minor skills: One-handed, speech, alchemy*

* I only use alchemy to make poisons against the tougher enemies. I ususally find enough health & stamina potions in dungeons.

I like to use werewolf as well. It's fun ambushing those bandit camps once in a while.

Another character I played was a master vampire lord.
She was a Bosmer that used
Stealth
Illusion
Conjuration(reanimate dead guys and bound bow only)
Archery
Alchemy

Basically I would sneak everywhere and use illusion to frenzy opponents while remaining undetected in the shadows and useing my bound bow to snipe the enemies.
When I got a dead enemy I would reanimate them to help out even more.

This was a really sick character, can you imagine your bandit buddy all of a sudden attacks you for no reason.
So you kill him, then when you think it's all over he comes back to life to attack you again.
So you start to defend yourself from him again but you get an arrow in the back from the shadows.

This character was so powerfull I never even wore armor or even mages robes, just the basic vampire robe.

Use the calm spells for the very few times you don't get the sneak on them.

And for kicks and grins go into your vampire lord form to really scare the heck out of people.

Thx for the link, this build is awesome and so are most of the other builds on that site. A source of inspirations for new builds.
