I really feel that the chests need to have a structured hierarchy like the player menu. The player menu is nicely divided into armor, apparel, misc etc., but in a chest everything is just thrown in their and its REALLY and big pain to find things when you have lots of items in them. For instance I have a chest in my house in Whiterun, and have a couple hundred things in it... but going through everything is a chore.

Agreed, one long list is just silly and annoying, im surprised storage containers never had any sort of partition yet oblivion did.

It's ridiculous having everything in one category, can take ages to find what you're looking for. This is a step back from Oblivion.

This would be nice. Right now I have different types of items in different chests in my house. Anohter thing that would help is if they also were sorted by alphabetical order.

i have noticed this myself, strange one too although i have not paid attention or even tried to figure out the reason for the seemingly chaotic order, for example my weapon's storage chest is not in alphabetical order but the staff's are all at the bottom of the list so i assume it's grouped by 'type'? will have to look when i next get on although i am keeping myself occupied and off Skyrim until the 1.2 patch as i want to see skyrim's graphic's in all it's glory.
