Chickens are Plot Centric Characters

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 1:24 pm

So I receive the quest to find the Golden Claw for the shop owner, and on the way out I randomly kill a chicken just for shiznits and giggles. Unfortunately, that put a bounty on my head of 100 gold, or whatever the currency is. I'm a bit confused, but F it. So I go and complete the quest, and when I get back to town...

EVERYONE IS TRYING TO KILL ME

Including the nice family who took me in and fed me, gave me supplies and allowed me to use their forge to craft my new sword which I am now forced to brutally kill them with. I can't talk to them at all, and if I don't fight back they kill me in short order. Even once they "give up" after taking a bunch of damage, they come right back in and I'm forced to finish them. With each kill my bounty goes up another thousand, until I'm nearly at 1 mil. Finally, everyone is dead and I decide to go to the tavern in hopes of drowning my sorrows only to find out, hey! There are more people who want to kill me! One of them is some chick in a blue dress who WILL NOT DIE because she just keeps healing herself.

After 3 hours of game time I'm forced to start over from the beginning, because I never saved.

Moral of the story: Leave the fuggin chickens ALONE!!!

This did make me laugh, and I can totally empathise with you as I did exactly the same thing, thankfully I had an autosave from just before!

Beth's just teaching you a lesson.
You must be sneaky about it if you are to choke the chicken.

I was thinking of doing the same thing.

I can't get Fable out of my mind because in Fable there is a sport of chicken kicking where you try for the longest kick.

I can't see this being a Skyrim sport.

Hasn't anyone tried to yield? Like in Oblivion?

Block and A (on the 360). Might work!

If you wait a couple of days before going back to the village, you might find people have somewhat forgotten about your cruel act.

Wasn`t there a post about the Sacred chickens of Skyrim on the developers blog? Something to do with their belief that the dragons evolved into birds (ala dinosaurs) ergo they became chickens?

Or did I dream that?

Whatever, having a blast with this game - worth the wait.

First chicken I saw, I thought:
"OH Yeah baby, there is only me and you now, and you little pathetic creature you cannot defend yourself!!! And I am peckish Hero with an hunger for good roasted chicken, or tikka chicken masala, so let me snap your neck you little spy..." crack -> splat *all the town it is upset* me: "what? for a chicken? it wasn't me!!! no no, I didn't kill it I swear... oh frak" and I realoaded before have killed the chicken.
It was funny and strange why the people would care so much. So I tried in the middle of the night, sneaking and trying to chop it while no one was around, and no... I got the bounty as well. Come on!!! I want to kill all the chickens of the realm give me a patch that I can do that during no one is around!!! or at least to get the chicken and killing it later far away from a town! :D

I want to join the Dark Brootherhood of chickens :D

A grown man, and a stranger at that, who kills harmless animals for kicks, who wantonly destroys a village's food sources, is someone you probably don't want near your family.

Hmmm....but is it completely, totally unforgivable? Can one not show remorse and once again accepted by society?
