No children of your own?

I wonder why they don't make it so you can have children yourself, instead of adopting them.

I mean if people are into realism that would be a problem for the female dovahkin, i mean running around for 9 months with a baby... Also if people married a spouse that's not the same race as you, Bethesda would have to make little kittens, argonians, etc, perhaps causing more trouble than its worth.

true. . . . I never thought about that. lol. but maybe they could make it so you only get the option if your the same race as your mate, or similiar race (imperial, nord, breton) (dark elves, high elves, and wood elves)

Because changing nappies and warming milk just does not have the same appeal as playing the game with children who can actually contribute to the game play. There were already orphans in the game, fans asked to be able to adopt them. Skyrim is an RPG not a real life simulation, our characters never age, never change, why should we put up with our female characters having to be pregnant and then staying home to raid the nappy cupboard and look after crying babies. At least for me, there is a limit to how much of staying home by the fire I am going to do, I want adventure and kids who can stay home and look after themselves.

That'd be awesome, except if you were playing a woman.
