Chinese Stealth Suit.

I loved the armor in FO3 but the armor in NV svcks balls. I cant go stealth. Why bother with adding it in if you dont give it stealth capabilities? Thats what it was designed for, whats the point taking it away? its like taking the power out of power armour, or the errr claws off of deathclaws...
Opinions?

You can add the stealth ability to the suit with mods, at newvegasnexus, actually with the stealth ability in FO3, it was way too easy, probably that's why they disabled it.
But still I vote for yes, it should be special as it was in FO3

Since the game's broken again, why not add it in.

I votd yes, but it should come at a cost I think. Like eating up ECP/MFC's while the stealth field is active?

Free infinite Stealthboy is a bad idea, well IMHO anyways.

I felt the Chinese stealth armor was easy mode in F3, glad they added at least some negative effect to it in New Vegas. But if it went back to it's original state I really wouldn't care since I can and do choose not to use it.

However Mr.Doom's idea of it eating up some kind of energy cells seems like a good way to retain the power but have some kind of side effect for having all that power.

It was fun for a while. I used it to reconnoiter areas, set traps and loot. Then I'd sneak away, kit up for combat, and return.
Using the Stealth Suit and the Shocksword, though -- I got strong Oblivion vibes.
Eventually it just got boring.

Sure, add it back in, I hate going around Hoover Dam anyway so I wouldn't exploit it's extreme over power.

Didnt the stealthboy come from the suit design?
I dont agree with doom, the chinese perfected it. Thats somethng the americans couldnt. It was the chinese awnser to Power armour.

It was cheating in Fallout 3. Not quite "100% Chameleon" cheating, but pretty close. I like the way Project Nevada makes it work (the same way as FWE did for Fallout3): it can only be in Stealth mode for a limited time, needs time to recharge and consumes energy cells while stealthed. Works pretty nicely.

The power cell idea. Dont get me wrong, in some ways its a good idea but it was perfected to use without them....

Really? Dammit when I read these forums I always see things that kinda make me wish I'd bought FO for my pc instead.. :verymad:

@ daisah, yeah I guess it was. But this one is very old and has been kept in a wooden container in an irradiated room.. (Might not make a difference but is a good theoretical workaround for potentially gimping it a little..)

"Dumbing" it down is unfair. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Chinese_stealth_armor
if you dumb down this, then dumb down power armour. its not cheating, its technology. Its like saying power armour is too powerfull.
You cant kill the one advantage the chinese had over the americans, stealth.
EDIT: yeah, i wish i had a pc good enough for FO, some of these mods sound koota.

I'd be cool with it either way tbh. I was merely giving a suggestion that would appease the people that think it's too powerful..
Don't forget I didn't say gimp the original design lol merely the two that were found in the Hoover Dam.
Perhaps they were earlier models that weren't as advanced as the ones in F3 OA?
Perhaps the prolonged exposure to radiation has damaged the circuitry on their delicate electronics?

Hell I don't know!!! lol

Yeah, wouldn't be half as bad if there were a few more stealthboys kicking around tbh. I'm a bit of a collector so I've only used a few when REALLY neccessary but I still don't have that many in my L38 pad...

I think it should be Qeust reward , after finding the suit and reading some nearby terimal you start a qeust were you try to unlock the secrets of Hoover dam, were at the end you find “Chinese stealth suit module” that you attract to the suit , making it go invisible.

edit: you also should beable to find the "chinese stealth module" at the big empty ( along with other high-tech stuff )

I personally didn't mind it being stealthy in Fallout 3. The people that complain it's 'too overpowered' are the same people I've read exploit things. Personally, since it's optional to use, I don't see a problem with it, it's like if I were to complain 'COMPANIONS DIE IN hardcoe MODE FIX THIS!!!!!' even though I use casual mode. People just want to gripe when something that doesn't fit their little bubble is introduced. Not like anyone is forced into wearing the Chinese Stealth Suit at any point of either game.

I'd rather it say as is, because giving it the full stealth would make stealthboys completely useless.

I may not have to use it, but why would I bother using a stealthboy if theres something that can give the same effect without the fear of it running out?

They're added in game because at the moment they are not useless. Making the chinese stealth suit into the game-breaker it was previously, would make them useless.
