So the lumber guy in Riverfall(?) told me that I can chop some wood if I needed the work.

I got myself a Ax and I went out and found a couple of trees I wanted to chop down and I couldn't. Am I missing something?

Any help would be nice.

It doesn't work that way.

You find an axe and a pile of lumber (I suspect it should be near the woodcutter). You'll know it's there when you see "press A to cut wood" or something, then your character will start chopping away.

you just go to the log pile in the mill. then grab a log and put it in the saw area and pull a lever

That one doesn't make profit though, if you wanna make money you need to take the axe to one of the chopping blocks around the mill and chop wood and bring it back to the guy at the mill to sell.
