Hey, look, amidst the myriad of "This svcks!" responses, an actual (semi)detailed impressions post!
With a growing Ralphie, it looks like they're trying to mix in some "mature" teenager humor about six and "growing up". Yet they're also going for all-ages visual humor and gags like the original. That means you're getting half your comedic value in each, so the movie's probably going to end up confused about which audience it really wants to please, and will please none.
Most of the gags we see in the trailer are the exact same gags from the original. I mean, literally the same. [censored]hole Santa, leg lamp, little kid cussing, even an aunt joke that's an exact mirror of the first movie's with a different costume. Why make a sequel at all if you're just copying the original? It's not like the original had any explosions or special effects that need updating (a.k.a. milking).
If your sequel is so bad you have to clearly label it "official" so no one thinks it's a dumb knockoff, maybe you shouldn't have made the sequel.
Meh I didn't really like the first one to begin with

Me neither, but it certainly never needed a sequel.
