City Life

Lately there hasen't been much talk about Vegas. So why not have a big disscussion of what we think, want, and know about the city of New Vegas, and it's casinos. For instance, what quests would you like to see? What do you think the gommorah will be like? Should mutants be aloud on the strip? I personally cant wait to see Vault 21. I also would like to see citzens of the slums trying to get through the walls. Hopefully there will be many mafia jobs. So go ahead, and speculate away!

No they're all at that mountain thing i forget what its called. And since Chris Avellone was the designer of New Reno (Best location IMO) and hes a major director this time, I want more of that grittiness, the one thing that hasn't changed from pre war, vice. You could become a gangster, drug dealer, and pormstar, at the same time. I know people would complain "oh its more of the same" but isn't that a good thing?

Black Mountain - Hostile mutant faction lead by Tabitha.
Jacobstown - Friendly mutant faction with Marcus.

I could see a quest to try and sneak some people into vegas

Or mabye a lil casino warfare where youll have too ruin the reputation of a competing casino

Perhaps distracting the robots so a crime to go down

Everyone wants to rob a casino and who blames them (the casino in redding in FO2 i musta knocked over near every playthru)

I want to see the Ultra Luxe really badly. The outside reminds me of the Luxor. I read on the wiki that it's the fancy pancy type place so I'm pretty excited to gamble there. I also can't wait to see the Lucky 38. I've seen The Tops a billion times in game play videos so I don't care about that as much. :celebration:

Yes there is black mountain, and then there is jacobstown which is friendly. I would expect somebody who has played FO2 to know that humans and super-mutants can live together peacefully.

I hope there are no ghouls or supermutants within the walls of the Strip. I am hoping Mr.House is very anti-mutant.

I am looking forward to the Casinos and Clubs.

No that is going to be a location called Repcoin which was an old missle facility taken over by ghouls. It has been speculated that they want to use the missles to kill humans, or to fly into space. You can see some pictures in the magazine scan gallery on the "falloutnow" website.

I doubt House would exclude Ghouls and Super Mutants. Money is money, and that's all that should matter to House. Casinos should be interesting, but I have a feeling that the outlying towns will be far more fun. The Strip just seems like a big safe zone instead of a place where the action goes down.

I just hope I can buy a house in Vegas instead of having to travel to and from the the faction of your choice. That gets very boring after a while

Given that most people shoot ghouls on sight and crap themselves when they see a super mutant it would be best to keep them out. The way people act in Tenpenny Tower is how most people reacted to ghouls in the past Fallouts. Mr.House is also pre-war so I am hoping he sees mutations the same way as most others "shoot on sight."

So I was walking down an alleyway one day with a muffin I bought from the baker, when suddenly Raiders appeared and threatened to kill me if I didn't give them my muffin. So, I took the muffin and...

And that's why there are no more muffins.

Why are we talking about muffins now? I think http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/15/preview-fallout-new-vegas/ points towards House being a Ghoul. It would make sense to only let Ghouls into your building if you were a Ghoul yourself and didn't want anybody to find out. Oh, and that also confirms that Ghouls are allowed into the Strip. Maybe Super Mutants will be allowed in too. They would make some pretty good bouncers.
