last night I just got some toughts and kinda worries.
Eventually there are other threads about classes but I didn't find some in the last two pages. Let's get a new discussion going on.
We already know that there will be classes (e.g. Dragonknight and Templar) who will obviously define your abilities.
I know there is great freedom with armor- and weapontypes where every class is able to equip type of armor and weapon. But I think some classes could have unique abilities. These could kinda define your role in a group.
Actually many players know class systems where every faction and eventually every race is able to pick all known classes. A good example is: GuildWars 2. Even in World of Warcraft they decided to "balance" the whole classsystem while implementing the Shaman-class for the Alliance and the Paladin-class for the Horde.
But I think that such things are a mistake. Even the smallest race in GuildWars 2 is able to play a warrior which makes absolutely no difference to a huge and strong Nord-like race.
Its the state of "mirror classes". Everybody is able to play everything and every faction is kinda similiar except the races.
In TESO there are factions with different races and. Every race might behave different in fights. Nord warriors might fight completely different than Bosmer warriors.
These differences could start the implementation of different faction classes.
The Nord warrior might be strong and much more offensive while the Bosmer warrior acts much more dexterious ... eventually the Bosmer one has some smart tricks.
Its even obvious that many races pray to different gods. Even such simple things could define unique class or race skills.
Furthermore you will have more challange in PvP while facing completely different classes than your faction has. Its kinda about "learning" the enemies abilities and even the weakness.
Since there is even a possibility that there will be faction-locks such things could motivate you to create a second character in a different faction.
What do you think about it?
By the way: Please avoid "I don't want classes" or "I don't want faction-locks" posts ... We already got some in other threads.
