If I can't choose the CAWS (or a Fallout-ified counterpart, since real names are not planned to be used anymore), I'll at least take my Jackhammer. Thumpthumpthump.

The Jackhammer is a real world weapon too, even if it never entered mass production. :P

Anyway, beyond the ones already mentioned, I really miss the YK-family of pulse guns. Those were great for exemplifying the Fallout mad science vibe. They just looked like something a deranged 1950s era weapons designer would make if given hypertech.

I know, I know. ^_^

Oh yes, the YK was a favourite of mine, too. Especially for my Girl Genius build.

I found the combat shotgun variants in FWE like the Jackhammer to be Much too strong and powerful, I was able to mow down the wastes with that thing. I wouldn't mind it if we had different combat shotguns in the game, but great care has to be taken to balance them out or they quickly become too powerful. Now just imagine the ability to add modded shotgun ammos, and I could see some real balance issues emerge.

Still, playing with the Jackhammer was hella FUN, so I guess its a balancing game!

All this talk of the automatic shotguns of yesteryear is making me hanker after the EMP slugs that you could get to take out robot foes :)

The S&W M29 was already in FO3, but with a scope attached (well... for those of you on console). I'd be willing to bet that it gets an asset re-use and goes in as the .44 Magnum again.

The game comes out in a week and half, which means it was sent to the printers several weeks ago.

So...

I'd like to see the Tommy Gun :P

The latest developers diary #4, has footage of what looks like the .223 in action. It bears a striking resemblance to Deckards gun, the handle even appears to have some transluscence to it. It seems to be the footage that the screenshot of the .223 pistol was pulled from earlier in the topic.

The Tommy Gun.
Its just so iconic I think it would be a crime to leave it out of this game.
