Clean Hands Achievement

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 11:17 pm

I just finished the game without killing or alerting anything. The mission stats always said "Killed no one" but i haven't got the achievement. Did i miss something or is the achievement bugged?

*spoilers*

Apparently if you side with Granny Rags when she has capture Slack, even if you knock her unconscious it counts as a kill.

Now the REAL question. I have 'no kills' for every mission. I have gone BACK and done the mission 'The Flooded District' quite literally a dozen times. No kills. No detections. Every Granny variation. And yet... no 'clean hands' achievement. I have absolutely no idea why.

I love this game. Why must there be achievement stress? This and the ridiculous 'no you cannot even upgrade Blink' achievement. You cereal? My first playthrough was hardcoe but it doesn't count because the achievement was vague? Upsetting.

Hmm, i didn't know you could side with her. I just knocked her out.
Some people died from other NPCs (the Weepers in the Distillery) but i doubt that counts.

Good question, maybe it's really bugged, if i'm not the only one with no kills and no achievement.

I also didn't get the achievement either and my stat screens all say that I killed no one as well. I sided with Slackjaw and simply knocked granny out and left her on her bed for that side quest.

Same problem here, didn't kill a soul, and the achievement didn't unlock. Stat page says I didn't kill a soul either.

I got the clean hands achievement. I just ignored Granny Rag's second mission to poison the distillery. And for the next time you meet her, I just lifted the key off of her freed Jack, then ran away. Time bend helps but I'm sure it can be done without it.

-Spoilers-

That's lame how Granny Rag counts against this... that entire encounter was so forced. Either you off slackjaw, off granny, or get detected getting the key. All the time bending in the world couldn't stop Granny Rags from teleporting right infront of me right after I swiped the key...

I freed jack because I figured he would distract her while I get away. And It worked. Just get behind her slow/stop time, swipe the key, free jack, then run/blink away

When I swiped the key, using time stop, Granny Rags would always immediatley teleport right infront of me, turn around, and then detect me. I honestly don't know why... if I opt to redo this mission and not knock out Granny Rags somehow, since I already got my undetected achievement, would* I get Clean Hands? Or do I have to start all over again?

Did you do Granny's sidequest that has you poison the distillery? If you do that it counts as killing people.

Yes I did, I figured since it said no kill on the stat screen it didn't count so I didn't redo the level back then. Damn it.

So can I just replay this mission or do I have to replay the entire game.

Are you sure it counts GrayFox? G-Staff didn't flag it. I guess he thought it was self-evident. Dear god that's a lot of progress I need to redo. So you have to rope yourself off from helping her to get this one?

The entire game.

I have gone back and done every mission individually and still not gotten any of the achievements- 'no kills,' 'never be detected,' etc. Seems like you need to do them all from the prologue.

The guide says to avoid this sidequest at all costs if you are going for a pacifist playthrough. "Pacifists Beware! Granny takes you to a very, very dark place if you follow her advice. If you have any interest in a completely nonlethal playthrough, do not do the second part of her optional task." Straight from the guide, the second part they are talking about is the poisoning the Bootleg Elixir and the first part is dealing with her Gentleman callers.

Cant you just sleepdart the gentleman callers?

Also when using stop time, can you move past guards's cone of vision without being seen or will it register as "seen" even if time is stopped?

Yes you can sleepdart the Gentleman callers which is why the guide says to avoid the second part of the quest and not the first. and if you stop time and walk in front of guards they will not see you unless you are spotted before you stop time or after you stop time.
