Cloakers - The new Plague on Crysis 2

Post » Mon Mar 21, 2011 10:37 am

but I think Nano vision need a buff back to demo levels to stop this madness(or to 40 meters)

Just no. Demo Nanovision practically removed Cloak from the game. People just walked around in NV and MA eating up people stupid enough to Cloak.

Try using Visor Enhance if you are having trouble spotting Cloaked players.

What I meant was back then you could eat cloak players alive for being so foolish to cloak 24/7. It needs buffed to a range of 40-30 metes though because right now its just too short range compared to the distance a cloak player can cover before its too late. I have played some very skilled cloakers. and there is NO hard counter to their style of play. THEY are running 24/7 in cloak.. not staying still. Its very hard to TAG them and then by the time you TAG them the gap is closed and BAM your dead. Nanovison needs a buff and MMAMickey idea for cloak tracker it a good HARD COUNTER to cloak. All modules should be viable not stealth enhance, Energy Transfer, and Mobility enhance. Making a hard counter that combo will force better play.

Nah, you guyz are paranoid, get proximity alarm, its meant for warning you, cloakers arn't to fond about running around in sunlight, scratch that, the smart ones. Usually they stick to the shadows and walk slowly, a running cloaker is easy to spot without nanovision in an open map, hence my point, proximity alarm will give you a good heads up in tight spaces.

What you do is turn on nanovision, and get ready for a dual.

There are a couple levels to the cloaking problem.
1. There is a specific type of class that allows you to cloak for a prolonged period of time and regain your energy next to instantly.
2. It is very hard to see them most of the time.
3. The feline is too efficient in killing people at MOST ranges.
4. Even if you're hulking around in armor mode, someone with the feline will still kill you no matter what unless you see them beforehand or they are horrible at the game.

It is clear that it is a problem since every game you play all the top players are using this type of class.

Yes, this is used by a lot of high skilled players 24/7. One that tick me off was ^NOX. He is a darn good player but those three points were why I could not kill him even if I knew he was coming. I only beat him off with a Proxy alarm and rapid fire MK60. Even then the feline user covers so much ground quickly that its hard to see them running bye.

The Feline is amazing true, but limits you to almost only one kill before you need to reload, but with a scar, i can easily kill 2 people with 1 clip, multiple times. I should mention i was forced to learn the ways of tracking a cloaked enemy w/o NV, all because of the insane Nanovision flickering.

Why don't people realize that cloak is completely useless in this game? I can and WILL see you EVERY TIME when you are cloaked. Whether im sniping or using my scar, i will always see you. Nano vision is also completely useless, i've never used it once, and never will need to. Cloak is rediculously easy to spot. If anything it makes you easier to kill. 3 bullets from the scar and your dead.

Dude, your freaking out, im a decent sniper, and ask anyone that plays with me, they all say the guass is OP, everyone knows that complete bull, the point being under the right guidance any weapon will be considered OP if the user is just good with it.

dud you got skill.... its just THAT set up IS OPed. HE moves too darn fast to see. You cannot spot him till bam uncloak, your dead and off he goes cloaked again. He is just using that exploit plus his skill to be impossible to kill. You can't win one on ones when YOU CAN"T SEE THEM.

Cloak Tracker.

End of thread.

Go level that perk...and then all the "lolcloakspammers" become a bright green sparkle all over them and while running, as well.

Super easy to spot up close or ranged.

Better is Visor Enhancement. Cloak Tracker is sorta useless.

Not really. You have to turn on Visor or look down sights to "highlight" a target.

Maxed out Cloak Tracker, makes everyone who is cloaked a bright green light show. Regardless of looking down sights or thru Visor.

So..me not having to use a manual option to only "highlight" targets, when I can see them clear as day running, hiding, camping....makes it much less useless.

Well till lvl47 I used only Armor mode, my stealth was still like lvl5 when power and Armor were 12 and anytime I got killed by anyone using stealth I screamed at the t.v in fustration but yeh I still managed a 2.2 k/d which proves you can play without stealth if you know what your doing, but I got so sick of the stealth crap that was going on that I decided to try it out, been using it up till 50 now and yeh my performance is still mostly the same well probably better but this could be down to random factors since It's only been 2 days.

tbh I would say only armor and only stealth have about the same usefulness if you got the right class setup and FPS skills you easily pull of 3~5 k/d's in each but yeh when using only armor stealth users annoy the crap outta me.

I don't have any problem with the stealth. I can usually see them any, plus I have the module that highlights them in red when scoping and even when you're in stealth I can see an outline.

My intention is that people should not think that cloak is the only method to play the game. I use cloak defensively, but run in and fight in Power/Armor.

Meh, when I finish playing through Crysis and Warhead again I'll probably go back to the MP of Crysis 2 for a bit and try out playing almost armour exclusive. Cloak is so boring.

If only the MP of Crysis 1 had more players..

Not gonna happen MMAMickey, C1 MP is still crawling with cheaters, circle jumpers etc. Not playable.

I am aware of this.

However, the gameplay of Crysis 1 MP was so much better, and required significantly greater skill to be good at. Especially considering cloak in C1 was not even nearly so powerful.

Yeah. Still I don't think of Crysis 1 having a good MP. I played Half-Life 2 Deathmatch by then (another PC only shooter with skill needed), so...

I actually love HL2DM, but Imo Crysis1 was to BF as HL2DM was to CoD. One had wide areas and group tactics, the other is smaller and less dependant on teamwork.
