COC no longer working!

Post » Tue Dec 04, 2012 1:19 am

Pretty much as the title says, all of a sudden the COC console command does no longer work. I've tried disabling all plugins except Skyrim.esm and Update.esm, but it still didn't seem to work. It did not even work after restarting my computer. It does not work when loading a savegame and then use COC, and it does not work when using COC from the title screen. I remember I was using it some days ago, I'm not sure if it was before the latest 1.8 patch. Except from SKSE and Script Dragon, there's only Calientes Body Mod and Frostfall I've updated. I've tried to update my own mod, and just after finishing my work, ready to upload it to the Nexus, I figured that this stupid COC is no longer working. This is driving pretty crazy, can someone help and lead me to the right trace?

I'm on 1.8 and it works fine. Double-check your spelling.

Are you typing (for example) DarklightTower02 instead of the values 0003CBCB following the entry, assuming you've used the help command? It never seems to work for me unless I type out the actual cell's name instead of the given value. If this is not the case, I'm sorry I cannot be of more assistance.

There's nothing wrong with the spelling, I'd used...

coc riverwood
coc whiterunexterior01

...booth, from main title and savegame, just freeze the game. I remember once having that in the past, but unfortunately I can't remember how I got it fixed.

Since I turned off all plugins, my assumptions points into direction of a corrupt mesh, texture or similar.

@Sedrethi

I never used cell Id's in the first place. The console code does work, as it always changes to loading screen, but from there, the game just completely freezes.

Because you're trying to center on cell (coc) not center on world (cow).

Try using cow, instead of coc.

Coc works with named cells in worldspaces. If I name cell -4, 29 HappyCabin, then instead of typing 'Cow MyWorldspace -4 29' I can simply type 'Coc HappyCabin'.

Coc still works just fine. Sounds like a mod is breaking something or causing issues with it, potentially your own.

Hmmm, coc is working perfectly for all cells since one year, why should it stop working now?

How can a mod affect something if the plugin is turned off?

I used TesVEdit to add a new master to one of my compatibility patches, but then still, how can a plugin affect anything if it's turned off?

Figured out what it was. Seems like when using the newest Script Dragon update together with the Companion Hotkey Mod, the CHM renders the coc command not working.

Well, I think I have to finally lay down this mod and SD. I'm sure CH will never be updated...too bad.
