Codsworth needs upgrade options

Post » Sat Dec 19, 2015 11:41 am

I love codsworth, but after level 20 or so he ceases to be useful. I hope a future dlc will let me upgrade him with better weapons and maybe some armor. Turn him into a modified mr. Gutsy.

Modding power armor is awesome. Modding codsworth would be equally awesome.

I'd love to be able to "move" him into a power armor and have him as a companion/vehicle ;)

I believe you can add hats to him...but yeah he needs some upgrade capability. Swap out his flamethrower for a plasma pistol or an SMG or maybe even a Missile launcher, swap out his sawblade for a stun baton or cryo gun maybe

I would have thought, for sure, you'd be able to upload his AI into a synth unit.

... or at least rebuild his rusty parts and alternative gear.

I originally thought that all those "Military Grade Circuit Boards" and "Targeting Cards" would be used to Mod him out.

I was sadly mistaken.

I've had the same thought. You can have him wear a Bowler Hat, which unfortunately isn't one of the hats that can receive the ballistic weave upgrade. At least not without mods. I just installed a mod that lets you apply ballistic weave to nearly any clothing item though, so now that I think about it I might have to equip Codsworth with an armored bowler hat lol

I'm more partial to the "transfer to a Synth" idea. But yeah, Cossworth needs more love.

Yup I agree you can give other companions armor & weapons you can take a perk that dramatically improves Dogmeat but like you stated poor ole Codsworth gets left out

Give him an attachment so he can be romanceable!

I gave a companion a missile launcher.

Once.

Oh god, getting nuked by your own companion is not funny.

I have a list of weapons I'd like to see Codsworth use...

  • Anything other than the Flamer and the Buzzsaw

I swear he barely uses the Flamer, just runs up to them, uses the Buzzsaw, and it doesn't cut it later in the game.

I'm stunned that we couldn't fix him up and deck him out with new gear. Or at least make him all shiny and new again!
