Now i'm not a fan of their genre by any stretch of the imagination, but i've heard them a couple times here and there and they've caught my ear. Should I check them out?

They're my favorite band so I can't give an unbiased opinion.

And no, I don't care if any of you think they're the worst thing to happen to music.

Really, though, if an artist catches your ear, look them up on Youtube, listen to some of their songs from various albums (because more oft than not, albums are themed and tend to sound kinda samey).

Edit: I can't even pick a favorite song from them, lol. Either Clocks, The Scientist, or Paradise.

Thanks, i'll check those songs out.

Edit: Actually Paradise is what I heard when they caught my ear. That was a few months ago. I meant to look them up but never did. Just heard Viva La Vida, and again, they caught my ear and then I made this thread.

Now that I think about it, actually, my favorite song is Violet Hill. It's a very good, mellow-lyrics/light-rock instrumentals song.

"It’s a long and awesome story, little one. We used to be in a rock band together. Called ourselves "Team Satisfaction". We wanted to have the ***est band name in the world, but unfortunately Coldplay was already taken. We were best friends, and even better musicians."

I like them quite a lot, Rush of Blood is my fav album. For me their music is split in two, pre- and post- Viva la Vida, they changed the style but luckily I like both.

Yeah, their music definitely can be split into the before and after, and I'm thankfully like you in that I like both :P Mylo Xyloto is probably my favorite album, though.

Their most recent music (ala Mylo Xyloto) is different than their older music (ala A Rush of Blood to the Head). It's more... upbeat pop-like, I guess?
