Common enemies

We all know the most common (human) enemy in Skyrim: the Bandit. However, in Oblivion, you probably know there were two main types of human mobs: Bandits and Marauders. Bandits tended to be Light Armoured and used Blunt weapons, whereas Marauders used Heavy Armour and Blade weapons. I really wish they still had this split in Skyrim. Fighting bandits is just kind of boring and I would much rather there were still two types of enemy.

Am I alone or who else would prefer the Marauders back (or for that matter, any other type of common human mob)?

There are Bandit Marauders.

I've always been against the idea of non-specific bandits.
I'd rather have several smaller groups or them, possibly named after the location they inhabit, with different styles of weaponry, armor, and tactics.

It would make it feel more personal if a Jarl/Steward said "Take out those damned Halted Stream Hornets" than "Kill (BANDIT LEADER) in (SPECIFIC LOCATION)"

Lol I'd love to come upon two warring factions of bandits some time.

That happened in one fort ruin of Oblivion, next to the road leading to Chorrol. Bandits and Marauders were having a fight in a pit with two sides separated by water. Usually some good loot could be found from them too ^_^

Bandits are already overpowered, all we need now is more of them in heavy armor. :P

There basically already there, it just doesn't call them a different title. Bandit Outlaws and down wear light armor and up they were heavy armor (unless they use a bow).

I like the idea of Bandits that have different names/tactics/gear depending on where they are. That would be awesome.

That was one of the joys of Oblivion goblins. The different goblin clans fought each other all the time.

for human enemies there's more than just bandits, there's the forsworn, there's cultists, there mage groups. Which are all humanoid based enemies that attack without provocation.

And Rockmilk Cave too! *sigh* Sooo miss places like that - made my millions off of Rockmilk Cave! The bandits in Skyrim seem so much alike - I do miss different baddies in very different armors! The different looks in Oblivion really made you feel like you were travelling...Camp Bandits looked different from Dungeon ones...it's harder to get a "feel" of where you are in Skyrim.
