Companion quest "The Silver Hand" bugged

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 8:47 am

Started the quest and Skjor tells me to meet him at dark by the Underforge. I waited until dark and he walks up and says, "Aela will be here shortly and then we can go in together." or something to that effect. He just says this over and over again. Aela is just standing there by the training dummies 60ft away with a torch in her hand and she never moves. I've waited through 3 nights now. Anyone else have this or have any suggestions? Also, the doors to Jorrksvar (sp?) are now shut and require a key 24 hours a day?

Sorry got nothing for you mate. I went there and he gave me that reply about waiting but a minute later the hunter arrived and in she went.

The doors to Jorrvaskr are locked and require a key? Whoa. Didn't even know that was possible. Can't help you there.

I didn't get the bug you're talking about, but I have a couple suggestions for Aela. Obviously, the first is to start the quest from the beginning from an earlier save. If you can't do that, you can try something I've done to get companions unstuck in the past:

Use your "Relentless Shout" or whatever (the first shout you obtain in the game) to push her around. There were a couple instances where I was traveling in the mountains and my companion got stuck in a rock formation and wouldn't move no matter what I tried... until I "shouted" at them. They stumble backwards a few feet and miraculously start moving again. However, this didn't work every time, I've had to resort to loading earlier saves too. Good luck.
