Companion Question, Rex + 1 more?

Post » Thu Jan 27, 2011 4:18 am

I loved how in Fallout 3 I was able to have not only Dogmeat with me to scavange items, but also an armed combatant companion. Will this also be the case in New Vegas? I mean will I be able to have Rex in my party, as well as let's say Craig?

But yah what they said.

I think the "1 humanoid" thing is a little misleading. Lily counts as a creature in the GECK, just like Rex and ED-E, yet she appears to fall under the "humanoid" category for the purposes of the companion limit.

Still, I guess this is why they didn't say "1 NPC, 1 creature".

Don't ghouls also count as creatures, like Super Mutants? I kind of wish that Lily and Raul didn't count towards the one humanoid limit, I was disappointed when I heard about it, hoping I could have both Veronica and Raul at the same time, and that they'd have some interesting interaction with each other (I really miss games where your party of companions actually bantered with each other).

Unfortunately, Lily and Raul count as humanoids.

That's what saddens me.I wanted Raul and Boone as companions...

Thanks, I'm glad. I hope we can give rex upgrades like a shoulder mounted laser pistol, heavier armor, or even a crafted paw using a deathclaw hand for higer mele damage. However if that's not the case, they should really consider adding that to future dlc. I mean common he's boinic, we should at least be able to exploit that.

Hah, I meant in the G.E.C.K. my good man. Hmmm, and I didn't see you make that face when Super Mutants were called creatures, haha. :)

I'm hoping there will be a glitch I can use to get multiple companions.

Note to Obsidian: have your playtesters be deliberately lazy in that department: we LIKE those bugs.

No, they're NPCs. Feral Ghouls, on the other hand, are creatures.
