Companion is stuck: can i teleport her to my position?

Post » Sat May 26, 2012 12:33 pm

My companion was falling into an area from which she cannot follow me because there is no normal way out but water and she seems to not swim away from it allone. So is there a way to rescue her? She is not following through doors so this is not helping.

Is there a console command which let me teleport her to my position?

Not that I know of. The path-finding an AI uses to follow you is a bit better than it used to be, but not perfect yeah. If you jump down a cliff, or jump up something they need to find a path that doesn't involve jumping. So yeah, when you have someone with you consider taking the non-jumping route. Entering a building may "port" them to you. I've noticed even when taking a non-jumping route they still fall behind quite a bit, but this may be a game performance issue, hard to say.

Have you tried to fast travel or change zones through a door?

There is a path, she just has to jump or go into the water but she is not doing it. I can reach the place by swimming and then she is noticing me and following me around this little place but when i jump into the water she is just staying there and is not following. All doors are to far away to make her following me though.

But i do not want to go without my companion. There have to be a solution!
edit:
Spoiler
iam into the dwemner city bellow markarth and she is stuck right bellow the ramp on the ground.

edit2: i just found a solution, i shouted her down into the water :D Now she is following me by swimming.

When mine got stuck I just sprinted at them for a few minutes and did a few fus ro dah's and it pushed them out. As far as a console command I'm pretty sure you can disable them then spawn them at a new location, but I don't know if that would change them in any way? Such as removing inventory or default armor?

You can teleport via console. First save the game. Ten open console and click on companion so it's ID display as selected object. Then move yourself to desired destination and type in console:

moveto player 0 0 0

Follower should now be moved to your position. If not then you selected wrong object so load the game you just saved and try again.
You can also check uespwiki for follower ID and type in console:

prid xxxxxxxx

Where xxxxxxxx is ID number and that will select it wherever it is in gameworld.
