Companions Won't Shut Up

Post » Thu Mar 31, 2016 2:19 am

So yeah, I dunno what's goin' on, but like, Strong, and curie won't shut the [censored] up. Is this some sorta glitch or something? I mean it's like "Strong hungry, want someone to eat" *milisecond later* "Humans all look funny" and he keeps talking, and never shuts the [censored] up.

He's incredibly chatty for someone who complains about you talking too much. X_X I was trying to mod some weapons one time, and I had to stop and kick Strong to hang out with the Abernathys.

I've gotten into the habit of sending most companions back to their original locations to avoid this kind of thing. Otherwise I just send them to a settlement I don't visit much.

For me it's Cait and Strong who got on my nerves in Sanctuary, Cait with her constant 'shag' line and strong with his 'milk of human kindness' thing, they both got sent to the Castle with Preston as punishment..

It happened with me too , but only when Strong wasn't with me , and I was just visiting the castle , didn't annoy me , I actually found that funny .

Yep, ditto for me. I assigned them both crop duty. Strong seems resistant to doing anything other than wandering around a settlement, but Cait will get to work if you force her to. Irritating, the both of them.

HAHAHAHAHAHAA!!

Man, I swear that stereotyping on Cait is way too exaggerated! :P

Man, I've never used Strong...maybe I should now. :P

Anyway, if a companion annoys you, then bro, send them to Detroit Murkwater construction site. The ever respawning Mirelurk queen makes living there hell.

The one that bothers me the most, since I tend to leave them at settlements and not travel with them, was Ada.
She just won't shut up!
"I sense somebody near." ... "I must have been in error." ...crap like that over, and over, and over, and UGH!

This is why dogmeat is the best companion... best way to shut up a companion is to have it not related to human form in any shape or manner..He just does what I tell him to do and that's all there is to it. Pretty simple..

In this game even Dogmeat annoys me.
The constant whining, and the *click* *Click* *CLICK* of the toenails...

If any of my dogs made that much noise...well, I would still love 'em, but...ugh!

She did for me, another reason I hate her. And she also likes to step in front of the robot crafting machine when I am using it, blocking my view completly.

I also think you can't remove her personality subroutine, and she can't be destroyed either. So the best choice you have is to send her to the machinist lair and let the machinist pay for his crimes by listening to this [censored].

I have noticed companions are chatting like a machinegun if you have dismissed them and are in the same settlement as they are. If they are close to you they keep chatting as if they were paid to do so. Aida keeps bragging about how well her vital stats are and Cait keeps reminding me that we would travel much faster if I stopped glancing at her ass. I guess it's a script activated to make the player bring them along again. But, jeez, it's almost like a kindergarden.

Man, if any of my dogs annoyed me that much, I'd sell 'em to the Chinese Takeaway down the road!

Swampy, eh? Think I might like to find it then. Maybe build a swamp house or 2 if it's big enough.

The only companions that really got on my nerves were Preston and Strong for obvious reasons. MacCready is slowly getting there with his constant wanting to ask me if he bored me with his life story. Might have to boot him to the Castle with Preston if he keeps it up.

I think this is to keep the loop open on being able to romance him. I didn't in my playthrough but he keeps workin' it apparently.

Just an FYI, but it is annoying though.
