It's not paper, paper is the standard, it's sort of like between cloth and card material, hard to explain.

It's like wallpaper.

If you didn't get a map I suggest you contact whoever sent you the game and complain.

I got a "premium" map, only the map is not what I was led to believe it would be. All of the pre-order hoopla made the map out to be a cloth map. The map I got is made from very thick, high quality paper. There is nothing cloth about the map at all, other than it is textured to look like canvas.

I think to remedy this I am just going to take a high resolution screenshot of the map down to our local screen printer and have them make one on cloth. We had a huge map made for Axis and Allies and it looks awesome, so I'm sure they'll do a good job with this one.

The thing is Bethesda never claimed it was a cloth map, people just misunderstood what they said and soon everyone was advertising 'we got a cloth map if you pre-order!'.

How's that $90 plastic dragon statue working out? lol

It was funny to see the guys underwhelming reaction when Gamespot did a CE unboxing and pulled the statue out. Especially when you could hear the distinct sound of plastic when they bumped the base and statue against each other.

Yea, this is the reason why I refrain from buying the CE, and was happy to not have pre purchased the game(well, there's multiple other reasons for that part...).

It's easy to check which map you have :)

Regular paper map: Thin glossy paper
Pre-order paper map: Thick paper (almost cardboard) with a kinda canvas/burlap feel to it

Bethesda never claimed it to be a paper map, retailers just went crazy and called it a 'cloth map'.

At any rate, I put mine in a frame and it's looking very cool on my wall ;)

Actually, the dragon itself is pretty freakin' sweet. The base, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Again, though, this is a case where doing something yourself makes a whole world of difference. Next semester my fiance is taking sculpting, so she's going to sculpt a new base and etch in the symbols.
