Concerns With The Elder Scolls Online

Post » Fri Jun 21, 2013 5:05 pm

I plan on getting the game for the PC because I doubt I'll get a hold of a PS4 or Xbox One with prices that are soaring to $500+ now. We can afford it (my family) easily but we question if it will be worth it since we each have our own PC anyway, and none of us wants to spend that much money on a console.

Anyway, I recently upgraded my PC but I question if I'll be able to run The Elder Scolls Online when it comes out. I can currently run Skyrim on high settings with no lag.

Do you think this will cut it on decent settings?

My graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 650.

Remember, as said above, I can run Skyrim on high and high is even what the game's default settings reccomended I run on. The only time I ever experience lag in Skyrim is during the loading screens and only if I turn the model it shows too fast (and most models don't lag) and even so, the lag is so minor and plus it's on a loading screen, not the actual gameplay.

Judging from the trailers, The Elder Scolls Online doesn't appear to have better graphics than Skyrim (maybe even a bit downgraded since it is MMORPG type game) but that doesn't mean the game, which will undoubtly have more content than Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyim combined, won't take a toll on your PC.

Do you think I should be concerned about running the game on my PC?

I thought this was another "ESO is being steered in the wrong direction" thread, but no: It's another "This is my PC's specs" thread.

You'll be fine. ESO is being made to run on low end systems. If your PC can run Skyrim just fine it shouldn't struggle at all with ESO.

If you can run Skyrim on high+ with no problem, I think you'll be fine running TESO on atleast medium settings, possibly higher.

Don't worry, if you can run skyrim on high with no lag, you can at least run eso on medium-high. They even designed the game to be playable on low end pc's.
