Confused! Roman names for non-Romans

I'm working on researching life in Roman Britain and I'm getting some conflicting ideas. Mostly, I'm not really sure how names worked for non-Romans becoming Roman citizens.... Am I right that female Brits did gain citizenship via fathers or husbands who did long periods of time in the army?

And if so, does anyone understand how women were named? If a non-Roman woman married a Romanized man, would she take the female version of his name? (IE: Her Brit name is "Narina" and her husband's roman name is "Caius Atius Varus".. would she then become Narina Atia Vara?... so confused!)

Edit: Btw, the only reason I ask this here is because there seems to be more British literature about this than I have access to here in the US and lots of you are from across the pond. ;)
