Conjuration on master difficulty

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 1:49 am

I'm sure it's been asked but my google search hasn't really come up with what I'm looking for.

I'm aware that on higher difficulties enemies gain more HP and resistance?
I had planned to make a pure conjuration mage on my first master playthrough but for RP reasons I don't plan on reviving the dead. (That and zombies make my skin crawl, even if they are pretty in Skyrim.)

My question is, how do atronach's fare on higher difficulties? At what point do they become useless?

Oh and I know the dremora lord is OP an' all that, but that's a long way into the game, since I plan on levelling all legit.

Do atronach's have higher HP and defence?

Thanks in advance, guys.

They scale with the enemies, in other words they get the same damage end defence bonuses from playing at a higher level.

Ah that's a comfort. I was entirely worried I'd get to 25 and be 1shot half to death. Any ideas on perk builds up to level 40 or so?

Thanks for your swift response!

Try getting the flaming familiar spell, it will make it much easier early on.

Edit: Typo.

Flaming familiar looks insanely fun, I'll be sure to get that quickly. Thanks, zenzi!

Pure conjuration mage, I guess you will be getting every perk then ha. Will you be using bound weapons?

I made a topic a while ago, about how strong conj can be early on - http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1347878-tips-for-conjuration-its-easily-the-strongest-skill-early-on/

Hope it helps.

Edit: oh and be Breton ha.

I'm not too keen on the idea of a bound sword, but I'm considering bound bow. Perhaps with alteration to back me up if something does get near me. I personally don't want to do destruction because I had an adept level mage and I didn't enjoy throwing fireballs and making fire walls as much as I thought I would.

On archer, assassin and warrior builds I tend to spread my perks too thinly, it's bothering me immensely. Using conjuration ensures I can focus all into 2 or 3 trees early on, then add in the others for the giggles later on.

Thanks bobjim, I'll read your post, it looks pretty good.

My first playthrough was a pure Conjuration Sorcerer. I retired her at level 48ish playing her Dead is Dead. It was very, very slow leveling. That is playing "legit" as you call it. I found myself training her to get where I needed her to be and just stayed there for the rest of her playthrough.

It was great fun a took lots of strategy to avoid combat. I ran with DLs in the end but Flame and Frost were very viable. As long as they last long enough for your magicka to regain, you will be fine. I truly can't play without the Dead Thrall spell, for ANY character. I am ruined. Good luck.

Oh I can't do it, I just think giving into the power of dead thralls would go against all my character believes in. She's sort of a classic cyrodiil mage with similar beliefs about necromancers. Game is all about roleplay, right? xD Besides, when all is done with mages guild I can make it a personal vendetta to destroy undead abominations.

Now to pick a race and make her purrrrdy.

Remember Bretons have +10 conjuration.
