Conjured Horse question

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 5:02 pm

So after conjuring my skeletal horse and riding him a few times my original horse now walks away from me whenever I get off him.

He still says Ride horse but he is behaving like a stolen horse. Is there any fix for this?

I could just buy another but my original horse has added health and stamina and I've had him for ages and I'd really like to fix him if it's possible.

Anyone know?

If left alone, he'll just wander back to the place you bought him. kind of like Shadowmere would do in Oblivion.

You'll still own the horse, but he'll just go back to the original stables that you got him from. No worries. :)

While on this topic, I must ask about my poor Shadowmere. While at Castle Volkihar there was a Dawnguard memb on top of the watchtower out front that was attacking. Shadowmere, being the awesome horse that he is, somehow went inside the tower to attack for me. Now, I can't get him out, and he is stuck, and when I fast travel, he STAYS in the tower! Help!

Thanks for the reply,

I did already find him at the Windhelm stable after he wandered off for the first time but I was hoping there was a way to get him to stay put the way he used to when I dismounted. Even after finding him back at Windhelm whenever I dismount he takes off on me and starts walking home.

The game seems to know that I own him but is scripting his behaviour as a found, or stolen horse. I was really hoping there was a way to get his scripting back to the way it was before I rode the conjured horse?

There is not a way to reverse it after riding Arvak because that is the script it has anyway. If you ride another horse, like Arvak, your other horse will return home. You you ride that horse again, it should fix. If it doesn't, then it it bothers you that much, then reload a previous save.

Ahhh. I see what you're getting at. No, there's no way to fix that. If you ride another horse like Arvak or Shadowmere, then the horse you're leaving behind will always go back to where you bought it.

In the case of an Arvak/Shadowmere combo, you'll always find Shadowmere just outside of the Falkreath Sanctuary. And there's no way to make it stop short of death... lol

Although, if you have the Twin Souls Perk to summon two creatures at one, you can summon two Arvaks, despite him being unique. When you do, you can mount either one, then the other follows.

This is exactly the kind of thing that begs for followers to be able to ride horses...

Thanks for the replies.

2 Arvak's at once? that's kinda funny - too bad you can't command your follower to ride the other one.

Exactly. Bethesda really needs to improve followers. I may actually use them, then.
