Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 4:49 pm

Ok I have the first rank in Local Leader, so how to I start a supply caravan and connect my workbenches in all my settlements?

Any help is appreciated.

Enter workshop mode, find a settler and allocate them to a supply line to wherever you want. Done. Their name will change to Provisioner to identify them more easily.

Note: Not all items are shared. Only junk, food, chems are shared. However they will not show up in the other settlements workshop inventory but will be available to use.

What post #2 said.

Also, make sure all of your settlements are connected, it becomes a must have later in the game if you really want to take your settlement building/expansion to the next level.

So, if I assign a settler from County Crossing to supply line and send him to the Castle, does that still connect workbenches from Red Rocket and Sanctuary to the Caste as well?

As long as they're connected also, yes.

No. You need multiple supply lines.

Red Rocket > Castle = both of these access to items. Adding a second supply line to Sanctuary from either allows all 3 to share items. Then add, say, Abernathy Farm from Sanctuary and all 4 have access to items.

I see, so I can only assign a settler to go between two settlements, say Red Rocket and the Castle. I would need to assign another setter to go between Sanctuary and Red Rocket.

Is this right?

Yeah that's right. They don't need two connections though. Connecting to any point in the network gives them access to materials. Try to use one settler from each settlement to go off to the next rather than have multiple settlers spread out from just one settlement.

Kinda like connect the dots. the settler you send to the next settlement will stay on the count for settlers in that settlement so I don't send them all from the same place.

Last Question (hopefully)

So I can't, at the moment, assign anyone from Santuary or Red Rocket, because they are all named NPCs or Companions. No can I assign any of the Minutemen from the Castle. So, what do I need to do to attract nameless Settlers to these places so I can assign one of them to the Supply Line?

Thanks for helping me figure this out.

build the radio transmitter. It needs power so you will have to build a generator as well.

You need to build a radio beacon. It's in the power section of the workshop menu on the far right. It needs to be powered by a generator.

Speak to Sturges and he'll tell you what is needed at Sanctuary. Beacon, beds etc.

I haven't tried assigning Minutemen to supply routes. I like keeping them at the Castle. But I don't see why not. I have them assigned to guard posts and artillery.

Really? I have supply lines (5 I think) connecting various settlements, and I have never seen this. They are all called 'settler'. If this is the intended behaviour (changing to Provisioner), it would be good idea.

I am on PC, fwiw.

Should do it automatically. It's the only assigned job that actually tells you what the settler is doing.

3 options :-

Just a glitch in the auto-rename

Command not taken properly

This isn't the settler you're looking for :starwars:
