Consistent crash in Freeside

After entering Freeside from the North gate, the game consistently crashes when attempting to turn left into the cul-de-sac with dumpsters and two bodies.

No one can offer the slightest guess without all of the missing information you aren't offering.

I'll add a quote describing it shortly. I don't care if you don't post a DxDiag report. Everything past the first audio processor block is all just so much dictionary word soup, visually, for me, once there's no formatting.

Basic Hardware Specification Chart (Empty so far)

Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Name / Type: Athlon X2 / Pentium D / C2D / dual core / quad, etc.
Processor Speed: ?.? Ghz
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?, Win7, Vista ?
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024 ? )
Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so please answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 5670 / Geforce GT 240
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (please use the numbers, *not* the word "latest")
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Model:

(And this is only for the raw hardware & driver variations. Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)

P. S. Please use every day business style paragraph breaks, punctuation, and spelling.

Minimum System Requirements (VGAs corrected for Obsidian stupidity):

* Windows XP/Vista/Win7
* 1GB System RAM (XP)/ 2GB System RAM (Vista)
* 2.0 Ghz Dual Core processor
* Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 256MB RAM
(NVIDIA 6800 "GS" or better/ ATI X1300XT or better)
{Added my note here, the X1600 Pro & up really, and
avoid both the Geforce 6800 SE, and the 6800 XT}
* 10 GBs of free hard drive space

If you don't know how to get a DxDiag Report, there is a sticky for that, or just follow the PC World tutorial, and my fill in the blanks form in my reply, above, if you want the quickest possible attempt at a diagnosis.

I know how to get a Dxdiag, but the last few times I posted it, nothing came of it.

Anyhow, the bug seems to have cleared upon restarting the computer.

In other words, you just used the word "Bug" incorrectly. It probably would have been better to either have re-used a prior discussion of the crashing you had written about, or to have included a link to such prior message you had posted when re-opening the discussion here.

I'm having a similar problem and if it is what I am experiencing it has to do with the game cache becoming corrupted. Generally I can play for a few hours before this starts, and either it makes me crash in certain areas/zones in game or the game will crash at the screen where the config is when trying to start the game. It can be remedied and least for a few hours, by right clicking fallout new vegas in steam, selecting properties, clicking the local files tab, and by clicking verifying the integrity of game cache. Hope this helps.
