PC console command question

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 10:40 am

I was screwed out of the "War Hero" achievement because I had not started the Civil War quest line and I gave the Stormcloaks Markarth during "Season Unending". I have since completed the Civil War quest line. I am wondering if I cound use the console option to get the achievement? If I can would I have to use the command to start the quest and then use the command to complete it or do I just use the command to complete it?

I don't think you can use console commands to give yourself steam achievements, If that was the case, everyone would gift themselves achievements all the time, you have to earn them legitimately.

Odd because you can use the console and still get achievements. I know people who have posted saying that when they started the game for the first time they added 50 to their characters level. They immediately got all the level based achievements.

I'm not sure I follow, you have killed the guy before doing the quest, is that it? If so, just bring the console up, select the dead NPC with the mouse and type "resurrect" (without the quotes). Hit enter, you're good to go. ;)

You could try typing in SetStage CWFortSiegeFort 950 or SetStage CWFortSiegeFort 9000. If that doesn't work, try going through the stages you can find here http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Battle_for_Fort_Sungard. I mean first try SetStage CWFortSiegeFort 10, then exchange 10 for 20, then 100, then 110.

That's right. You can use commands to influence the game to meet qualifications that earns you achievements. Reguardless, you cannot use console commands to reverse any questlines. You never could have. What you could do is start a new character, and then input the console command that proceeds you to finishing up to the quest you need to complete within a faction to "legitimately" obtain the achievement.

Usage of console commands have been known to mess with people getting achievements so it's best to miss it entirely in that regard. Seeing as the achievements add to nothing more than you're steam account you can always creating another character and go about completing them that way.
