Consoles Commands on Xbox and PS3?

Just out of pure curiosity, why can't they put console commands in? Can't they put it in but just limit it, so you can only do certain things like spawn items, resurrect/kill characters, ect just make it so it disables achievements/trophies.

It would require massive testing in all honesty if they were going to put console commands on the 360 and PS3, they would have implemented them before Skyrim came out, not in an update or DLC.

there are plenty of ways they could i suppose but it just wouldnt be a practical use for resources. for it to be used effectively you would need to plug in a key board to your xbox or ps3, the xboxs built in one and even the ps3s built in one would take to long because the commands are too long and it would take ages to type them out on the console. this probibly wont be incorperated at all even if it were a new game. consoles just dont get console commands same as how console gamers dont get mods.

Probably because A) they're afraid you'll break your game (it's not hard to do with the command console) and B) the consoles don't really need it. Despite popular belief, the command console is NOT a cheat tool. It is a testing and debugging tool. It can be an invaluable tool on an open system when you're testing and debugging mods. On a closed down system, though, there's no real need for testing and debugging.
