Right now it looks like I'll be getting a PS4 day one and a Wii U somewhere down the line. Microsoft is really shaping up to be nothing more than a bunch of anti-consumer practices. At some point I imagine I'll upgrade my PC as well but the PS4 will be my next investment.

Sticking with PC, don't really think I'll be needing any upgrades anytime soon either. Might pick up a PS3 once they are in the $100 range so I can play some of the highlights from the past console generation.

Books and pc games. I have little faith in the new Xbox and I think the next generation of consoles could have waited another year or two.

I'll be sticking with PC. I may pick up a PS4 at some point if there is a better selection of console exclusives than the current generation. I don't watch the NFL and I don't play Call of Duty, so the Xbox One is of no interest to me.

I'll build a gaming PC, then I'll buy a PS3 to play all exclusives I missed. Only then will I start thinking about next gen (or is it current gen now?) consoles - if I decide to get one, it will probably be a PS4.

Well... PS3 until the better half of 2014 arrives. Then I'll see if PS4 is worth getting or not.

So, PS3, books and these forums. Valton for the win!

I'm definitely leaning towards PS4, but still undecided.

Not going to decide until the details of all are both fully revealed, including some insider information of someone who actually takes apart the machine and discoveries some of it's hidden treasures, and also a couple model generations have passed so they get the initial kinks out of them. Sony had a few bad things happen to their early machines but they were very managable. Microsoft had a really rough start with their last consoles.

I might just get a Wii U though because if these next consoles aren't all they are cracked up to be, I'll get the lesser of the 3 pricewise and settle for that and I'll move the hardcoe gaming back to the PC where I will continue to be a "control freak".

Idolm@ster getting a US release for the Xbox One is pretty much the only thing that could get me to buy an Xbox One right now.

While I have nothing against the PS4, I don't see myself getting one simply because I rarely play video games anymore.

So I voted Books.

Well, I already have a gaming PC, a Wii U, and a Vita.

I wont be upgrading my PC for a while. I'll see what Nvidia does with Maxwell/800 series, and AMD with Volcanic Islands/8000 series. I'd rather not upgrade my GTX 680 (which is still selling around $450-$500) until I get at least a 50% performance boost, and from the look of things, the GTX 780 will only be giving me a 20%-30% boost at best, which isn't enough to justify the $650 price tag, IMHO.

I'm happy with my Wii U. I got it because out of all the console exclusives, Nintendo has my absolute favorites. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate has been an absolute blast so far, and ZombiU is pretty spiffy as well. Things will only get better once TLoZ wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, MonolithSoft's 'X', Smash Bros, etc. etc. etc. all release.

As for the Vita, I'm a little less satisfied with it than I am with the Wii U, but I still enjoy having it. Having access to PS1, PSP, and Vita games all at once is pretty damn awesome, especially for playing JRPG's on the go.

So, in summation, I voted books.

All consoles will have online DRM this generation, so get ready to enjoy a 'service' worse than steam.

Sony said they are letting publishers individually decide what they want online DRM on. That means pretty much everything... but still better than the Xboner's mandatory online DRM.

EDIT: Oh ya, books and PC for the win! Although I will probably have to ugrade my 5 year old PC's video card and RAM to run this generation's games.

It's kind of a sad commentary on our society that one of the promoted features of the Xbox One is that you can change TV channels using voice commands. Have we become so lazy that lifting up a remote control and pressing a couple buttons is too physically strenuous?

:lmao: Reminds me when people asked have we become so lazy that we need a remote controller instead of walking up to the TV to change channels.

Never understimate human lazyness. Nor stupidity. Nor ingenuity ironically. And dont't forget greed :hehe:

I will be getting my son a PS4 at some point, when the price has dropped and there is a reasonable bunch of games. Microsoft have serious issues with knowing what people want, but know full well a load of 'em will not only end up wanting it 'cos they are told to, they'll defend it to the hilt.

Sticking with PC. May not need an upgrade since I do not really play on super high settings in my games, and the only settings I really need to be on to avoid eye candy breaking video is AA and vanilla high textures.

Looks like PS4 for me, whenever they come down in price. 2-3-4 years?? Those initial release prices are usually way up there and second, third gen usually sees a nice drop in power consumption. I'd like a PC, but just don't really have the space for it and it wouldn't be living room, family centric like a console. And they are generally pretty big electric eaters.

Books and PC, though I've recently gotten some new (and interesting) books and I don't know when my next PC upgrade will be.

PS4. Sony is actually focusing on games. Can't say the same for Microsoft.

I'll be sticking with my PC; it should last without a problem for at least a couple of years. By then I shouldn't have monetary issues upgrading it, and I might pick up a PS4 around the same time since the price will be down.

Books and upgrade for me. They are trying to do somewhat of a good thing about used game sales but the developers are still getting shafted while the money hungry publishers will still get the lion's share of the money along with Microsoft being able to double dip if they publish the game too.

Achievements for watching Television? That is just so lame imho.
