Constant crash on loading - Whiterun

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 4:04 pm

I have installed the following mods;

1. Skyrim Flora Overhaul
2.Skyrim HD
3. RWT - Realistic Water Textures
4.Improved NPC Clothing
5.No more blocky faces
6. FXAA Post Processing Injector (Preset1)

Problem:

I am fairly early in the game---> Going to help at the watch tower, after talking to jarl(the king at whiterun).

When leaving buildings in whiterun, upon loading the game will not repsond, the loading screen will still be present allowing me to move the object etc. I have found that this problem occurs no matter what detail setting i use before entering the game. The following is what happens at low and ultra settings. Upon looking at the process its using around 800mb when unresponsive (not sure what skyrim uses with all the mods when actually playing).

Low - Game allowed me to enter and exit buildings within Whiterun. After joining the companion and being told to go beat some guy up, when leaving the building the problem described above happens.

Ultra - Attempting to leave the buildings from inside(obv) to whiterun, from a save point within the building results in the problem above. Entering the building works fine.

I have not tried any other settings, nor have i removed the mods to test if they are the cause (i havent done this because i have a few mods which i installed manually and removing them manually would be a pain(ill be testing this after i write this....)

My Specs are:
Core i7 920
Sapphire 5870 1GB
6GB DDR3 RAM 1600
Wireless XBOX 360 Controller

Driver Version 11.12
Skyrim: Latest Version on steam

-------------------------------------------------------------

Ive had to start over on the game for a second time and this has happened again. The first time i installed mods at different interval during my playtime, the second time around i had all the mods installed before starting the game.

Any help will be appreaciated.
Thanks

---------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:

I have removed the mods and found it to be a problem with them, as i can now leave a building and enter Whiterun.

Just to make sure i reinstalled the mods and now it wont even load the save file..... Also all the objects on the loading screen are heavily tinted red.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the location and loading such a big town such as whiterun as well as the surrounding area? Is it a problem to do with having only 1gb of video memory? I can play perfectly well once the game has loaded (i completed the quests in riverwood with the mods installed without a problem). Anyone have any tweaks that could potentially fix this issue?

Try using the console command CoC Whiterun

That will move you out of the city, and it may fix the problem. I got stuck in the Hall of the Dead in Whiterun and that fixed it.

Hi thanks for the command BUT

The game actually crashes when attempting the command u gave, whereas before it would just sit on the loading screen indefinately until i manually closed the process. It may be that my computer cant handle all the mods at once in this area . Such a shame because the art is a little too bland without the mods....

Sometimes I'll run into the problem of getting CTD's when I teleport (exit) Whiterun into the world space outside Whiterun.

I cannot pinpoint it without the CK, but I'm beginning to think that the CTD's may have something to do with the Khajiit traders... because I won't CTD on transistion between the two world spaces when they're not around.

Your best bet is to reload a save game my friend. And in the future, before you exit Whiterun, make a quicksave before you exit so you don't run into this issue again.

hmm i think ive confused you guys. The crashing for me is happening not when leaving whiterun, but rather when leaving the buildings within the town. Its so frustrating because now after removing all the mods except the skyrim hd the game will not even load me inside the building. Also us the logo on the main menu meant to be tinted red as well as the 3d objects on the loading screen?

I'm guessing that is from not using the FXAA injector anymore, as any of the other mods should just default back to the original textures. Try checking the integrity of the game's cache. And my suggested fix was because I was stuck in a Whiterun building myself, but it didn't work. What building are you in?

Have you been changing any settings in your ini files? I had that red tint model issue when I was reverting my uGridsToLoad setting. There was a temporary ini file made in the Skyrim directory that I had to delete to fix it, maybe that temp file is causing your crashes as well.

yeh i did alter the ini file. I used the 3d map mod, changed the FOV to 90 and in an attempt to fix the problem above i tried the ugrid 5 fix i found on steam (didnt work). I cant believe that it cant load the world on my rig, when it actually works its smooth as butter.
