How long have you played with the noise? Some people have reported it stops after so long, like 15 mins.

Open the console and type showracemenu. This has fixed it for some people.

Lol gutted man. As far as I know they are the only fixes. I believe it is on Kivan's list for the unofficial patch, if Beth don't sort it sooner.

I've read it's a bug thats something to do with having shout like elemental fury shouted at you.

Edit: You'll just have to load an earlier save man.

It wasn't, but I had a look at it, and it's doable, so might as well...

Also try the sixchange console command to get rid of it, and then again right away to restore the player's gender.

Sorry man thought I read somewhere that you had :)

@OP I read it happened to people when they had shouts done at them, like elemental fury. Not shouts you've done ;)

Is there any word on a fix for this sound issue?
I have it as well.
Playing a new character on a second play through so haven't used more than the initial greybeards shouts.
Tried the sixchange fix - didn't work. So far nothing has fixed it. Its like living in a wind tunnel - very unpleasant.

Hmmm Ok fixed it on mine. Apparently the new 1.5 altered my in game settings (which of course was the last thing I looked at). So after trying all sorts of esoteric fixes I finally went where I should have gone in the first place.....
In game journal. System. Settings. Audio... lo and behold everything was maxed to the right. So moved Effects to half way, Voice left on Full, Footsteps between the two, and Music about a 1/3 of the way along.
Result - No more wind tunnel
