Consumables Question

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:08 am

[Obligatory troll preamble: I've searched wikis, this forum, the owner's manual, and even my beloved copy of the Prima Game Guide and nowhere does this explain this.]

Okay, I'm a bit confused with the new change in consumables in FNV...most consumables list a time frame in the "effects" (i.e., Purified Water HP + 7 (5s)). I had taken that to mean that the +7 HP would last 5 seconds, but when I drink the purified water, my HP doesn't change in my Pip-Boy at all. And, the "Purified Water has Worn Off" screen seems to take longer than 5 seconds to appear. This led me to think that meant there would be a delay between when I drank the purified water and when the effect would activate, but then why would the effect "wear off" after any length of time.

Anyone have any insight for me? Thank you in advance...

Yeah, while I really like the not-instant healing dynamic, seeing that my steak wore off gets annoying.
