As this is a corporation there is a warrantee on the back of the manual. I suggest you all look at it. There is a contact number on it for technical support. Call it log it save your receipt and run through the normal process you would as if you were returning anything else covered under a warrantee. Don't whine, complain, and troll the forums. You have to document issues with the software. Lets all think clearly here, bethesda zenimax is not a small family owned business with 5 people. They work on numbers and if they don't have on record 30,000 tech support slips documenting issues than they won't act on it. Submit your case document everything and if everyone of 30,000+ posts sends in a report. Things will happen. If everyone continues to whine and moan here in a forum...nothing will come of it except bleeding eyes and trolling. I will do some of the work for all of you who are either incapable or not as energetic to solve the issue. I can detail it all out for you on a nice plate.
1) Register your game. This is a must you have to do it within 30 days to be covered by the warranty. Again its in the back of the manual.

1) call tech support or email
Tech Support Phone number 410-568-3685
Email Form: http://support.gamesas.com/eng/email.asp

Bethesda Softworks LLC
a ZeniMax Media company
1370 Piccard Drive, Suite 120
Rockville, MD 20850
Phone: (301) 926-8300
Fax: (301) 926-8010

2) Save everything, log when you called and follow the instructions your given by Tech support. Just entrant them, you never know you might have missed something.

3)If you not happy with the result go back to the place you bought it with this documentation. It says it plainly on the last page of the manual, ""Warrantee claims must be made from whom you purchased the game"

4) If your still not happy after receiving a new game or fell that you are being ignored for any reasons, "DONT WHINE HERE ABOUT IT" Contact the Better Business Bureaus and start a case. Simultaneously you could contact the FTC If you really are finding your not getting any help.

Federal Trade Commission
http://www.ftc.gov/

Better Business Bureau
http://www.bbb.org/

If you need to ask what these organization do, you probably should not be contacting them. The key issue here is HAVE Patience. You don't call the cops to break down your door just because you may have to wait an hour for the locksmith to fix the lock he installed.

It svcks we couldn't have a perfect game at launch but lets face it, the end result is such is life. Way too many people here have to great of a sense of entitlement. Relax take a break. Nothing will get done on forums and blog sites. Be real, the agencies and consumer protection is out there and is useless if you don't use them. I hope this helps and doesn't induce a borage of trolling. Hope this helps and hope they solve the issue.

Warranties cover defective products, I.E. material defects, not broken game engines and bad coding. No big box store or major outlet will refund money on any opened electronic purchase: DVD's, BluRays, Games. The BBB is good for accreditation and having complaints on file but as an effective agency they have little to no power other than to simply catalog peoples problems. As for the FTC I doubt anyone in that bureaucracy has any clue as to what a game is. It's not that I'm against doing any of this, it's a good idea but good luck getting Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Best Buy or any others to give you your money back once you've opened the package.

I still think commenting online is the most effective method, bad PR is a company killer. Keep up the noise and shame Bethesda into action. And if they actually come outright and say they knew they shipped a faulty product than someone might have a legitimate chance at filling a class-action lawsuit.

I just called them complaining about not only Skyrim, but Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 3 and Oblivion, and asking why it seems the PS3 gets treated the worst. I tried to be as calm and rational as I could, but I did get a little heated.

The lady said hang on one moment, I did, then she hung up. Take that how you want.

Good post. I think Bethesda might have made a calculated risk that any issues would be solved before they grew out of proportions and that is still a possibility. Have it fixed in a week and everyone will forget this ever happened. People need to calm down, this will be sorted out. Loving the fake Pete Hines twitter btw. https://twitter.com/#!/DCDaecon "You should make a new character in the game and model it after yourself. Call it Faggel McFaggotron."
