Do content mods (such as JaySuS Swords, Immersive Armor, Sky

That may seem like an incredibly dumb question, but I just wasn't clear on it. Typically these mods don't increase spawn rates, so I thought maybe these "items" are stored in a "pool" of sorts and are spawned when randomly selected.

Forgive my ignorance but I am just curious (and trying to figure out which of my mods to cut to increase FPS).

Thanks!

I'm not one of these players who plays with one eye on the framerate counter. I judge these things by how the game feels to me. All I can say is that it doesn't feel as though my game slows down when I use these mods.

AFAIK, the item mods should be negligible unless you have a very low end computer or have dozens of NPCs running around with the equipment, which is uncommon in my games. For me, the biggest FPS culprits are texture replacers for things that are rendered over and over again (landscape, static items, etc.) and weather mods. MoMod might be the problem depending on textures, but I'd look to graphical enhancements first.

Content mods that add armor or weapons, won't have any impact on performance.

However, creature/NPC adding mods can have an impact, depending on how many spawn points they add. But from what I've noticed the engine can handle something like SkyMoMod + ASIS without any drop in performance on my system.

This, I only use Immersive Armors out of the three you listed but it doesn't affect my game as far as fps feels. If you have fps trouble it is most likely due to high res texture packs, poor RAM or graphics card, or it can even be running stuff in the background like Firefox (What I use, can be any internet provider) other games or apps. For me you can Ctrl Alt Del and pull up your task manager and end unneeded processes. I always do like Itunes plays in the background for some reason or openoffice crap.

Of course having 100 NPCs in your view with these mods would kill your game  But armor and items shouldn't be your source for cutting FPS loss because in my experience they aren't the problem. I don't know what SkyMoMod is so can't help you there.
