Second, a lock-on target would help immensely in the combat. I've killed several friendly NPCs in battle by the sheer fact that I can't selct my target for attacks.
Take a leaf out of Dark Soul's control scheme - they know how to implement precision controls in a similar PS3 game. Give it a go - play it and feel the difference in how it responds, and how much the lock-on helps in combat.
Love the setting in the game, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it - but at the moment the control issues take a lot of the fun out of the battles in the game.
