I've read of people saying that the controller should rumble when hitting a enemy and when blocking blows. This is not however working on my copy. I'm using steam install with genuine xbox wireless controller. Games usually work fine with rumble.
Does rumble only work correctly on the xbox or ps3 version of skyrim? Is there some ini file i need to modify to correctly enable rumble? i DO have it checked as on within the gameplay options already.
I didn't even notice this, but now that you mention it I don't get any vibrations too, I hope there is a way to enable it. Though I guess they got lazy and just didn't port it over..
I'm playing with the controller on PC and I get rumble...
I didn't do anything special to install, just plugged it into the usb port and it auto-installed the device
Thats weird. Are you using a wired controller or wireless? I'm using a wireless controller with the USB wireless receiver dongle on my machine. I also didn't have any issues installing and rumble usually works perfectly. I've played games like GTA4 and Darksiders both have plenty of rumble action.
Can anyone confirm they have Rumble with the wireless xbox controller over steam. Also should I get rumble feedback when blocking? (as an easy way to determine its working)
I have a thread on steam forums also. Someone mentioned to check the drivers are up-to-date. I will check this tonight when i get back from work. So please try downloading the latest driver here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/xbox-360-controller-for-windows#support (click on the "support" tab)
I tried sync'ing this controller to my xbox and still didn't work. Changed batteries and bam, worked perfectly. After sync'ing back to my pc its working again with skyrim. Much nicer with rumble
I didn't realise but the wireless controllers shut off rumble when low on batteries. Whats funny is that the official microsoft help FAQ on "why doesn't rumble work in my controller" doesn't even mention this but i've since found other people mention it in game forums like halo etc.
uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the gamepad.
it fixes a ton of problems, both with steam, the older drivers, the games that use vibration, and the UI for the 360 settings.
If it still isn't working, your Usb port does not support it, or you have it switched to off in your Xboxlive/.net settings, or on the frontend of the settings for the 360 controller.
