Did you complete the first puzzle with the snake and dolphin symbols?
Look above/on floor for the answer to that puzzle.
Eventually you'll come across a door that needs this claw.
It is another puzzle. The answer lies on the claw itself, remember

the shopkeeper who gave it you tells you were it works ive got one but cant remember were he said think it begins with S two words hope that helps sorry if it dunt

Hopefully loads I've found Golden (obviously), Ivory and Sapphire so far, and used (then re-sold) them all. I also found a switch that required an Emerald Claw, but I haven't found that one yet. I'm guessing there will be Ebony, Ruby and Silver, plus maybe Topaz, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Diamond...

It's strange where I've gotten some of these things. Then, out of nowhere I'll stumble on where I need to use them.

Are they all keys for that swirling door puzzle? Or is there a quest to collect them all or something.If it's the latter,I aslo hope there are lots of it.If it's the first,I think that's kinda repetitive...They also get stuck in my inventory and are not lightweight.LOL XD

Each of these claws is needed to access a specific chamber offering a new power word for your shouts, without them, you cannot access the chambers, and there are a number of them in game. The reason for them all being hidden in this way is covered during the story.
