Corprus Returns in "Dragonborn"?

Post » Tue Nov 06, 2012 7:43 pm

In the new "Dragonborn" trailer, exactly one minute in, the Dragonborn is fighting an enemy that looks surprisingly similar to an http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Ascended_Sleeper#Ascended_Sleeper, a high level member of The Sixth House and victim of Corprus that was featured in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Look http://www.gamefront.com/files/22590202/The_Elder_Scrolls_V__Skyrim___Dragonborn_DLC_Trailer# and judge for yourself. Do you think the dreaded Corprus disease has returned?

It's not an ascended sleeper. Ascended sleepers weren't fully tentacled.

Yeah, the Corprus characters look very much like those from MW. It seems like the disease has migrated to Solstheim.

I hope it isn't Corprus. shouldn't that disease have disappeared along with Dagoth Ur?

Diseases can never be destroyed. Even if the original disease is gone, there will always be newer and stronger variants to take its place.

Well, in a fantasy world, anything can happen. Besides, even in real life, diseases have a talent to resurface when many thought it was eradicated for good.

These could very well be corprus victims from hundreds of years ago. They don't die from age/disease.

Divayth Fyr has just packed his tower and Corprusarium and moved to Solstheim. Possibly also took a few Dwarven ruins with him. What's so odd about it? <_<

I remeber that the corpus made you immortal too or soething like that, it was a magical diseas spread by dagoth ur, you could not get infected after he was gone but those infected could live a long time...and since Beth revised some of its designs I would say that iS an ascended sleeper

As i said in other topic, there is no chance this things are victims of corprus, they are using weapons, corprus monsters never used weapons in Morrowind and as long as i remember they are not intelligent (enough or at all).

And that thing is not Ascended Sleeper, its more likely daedra related to HM.

I like Fyr's theory on corprus; that it is not a disease but a divine blessing, its just that the majority of mortals are simply unable to handle it (hence we get corprus stalkers etc). If we treat its origins as divine (it is anyway) then its effectively over as a danger now with the death of Dagoth Ur. Those who were already afflicted wouldn't be cured though.

They certainly resemble lame corprus in appearance (pretty close anyway). If they do happen to be corprus fiends then I wouldn't put it past Divayth Fyr to have moved his corprusarium to Solstheim.

If you look at the surroundings, you'd see it's in the Apocrypha. HM's realm. But it really does resemble an ascended sleeper.
