The couriers that come up to you in Skyrim deliver messages from *friends* and they often tell you of places where you can find Dragon shouts amongst other things. What I would like to propose is for those same couriers to be gathered at most major cities and towns in the game and approachable. I'd like there to be a mechanism where I can give a courier one or more item(s) and for him to take it to a friend off of my friends list. The way I would can see it working is if the courier to run his normal scripted sequence where he finds you in cities, towns or the wilderness and says, "Hello, I have a package for you from a friend." If this were to be designed and brought into Skyrim via an update or a DLC pack I think that the majority of people would appreciate the benefits it could offer.
When I play Skyrim I am often in an Xbox Live party talking to friends at the same time who are also playing Skyrim. On a regular basis, I would find really high level and high quality sets of items for character classes which don't match how I play, but instead match perfectly how my friends play. And the same happens for my friends. They would find a brilliant weapon or set of armour more suited to how I play the game. It is because of this that I thought well why cant the couriers be programmed to deliver items from player to player for free or maybe a small amount of coin.
Certain safety procedures could be put into place so that spamming couldn't occur. I already imagined how annoyed I would be if I loaded up my game and was greeted with a courier carrying 378 cabbages. By safety procedures I mean an option to tell the courier who approaches you that you do not want any more items from that player until you send him/her something first.
I have asked a few people and they all seem to like the idea as it opens up quite a few doors in Skyrim. Trading between players, helping each other out in times where you need certain armours and weapons, skill books, or ingredients. You may be limited to how much you can do in your game because of the skill sets you have chosen to develop but if Bethesda were to try and implement this idea into their game somehow, players could team up in a way and help each other complete missions and tasks by defeating and enhancing each others strengths and weaknesses.
Please comment and let me know what you think. I would appreciate it also if you could vote in the poll attached to this thread.
Thank you very much for reading this and I hope that I have persuaded you to agree with me.
